October Special

I wanted to let you know about a wonderful new technique I am doing. In the past two months, I have learned a new process on releasing the darkness in the mind and in the body. It also involves doing some therapy with the right and left brain, and clearing out memories there. However, in the process of doing this, I have found that in clearing this out the subconscious mind becomes amazingly reversed. All of you who have been clients know I struggle with this on an ongoing basis. I have had each of you doing reversals over and over and over and over…..until you are sick of them. LOL Now, with this new technique, you stay reversed in almost everything on a constant basis and it allows your body to heal on its own. We still go in and clear out emotions surrounding organs, etc., but no reversals are needed, you consciously and subconsciously want this to occur. It has been absolutely AMAZING!

Anyway, I would love all of you to be able to experience this for yourselves and for those of my clients who have already done this, I am offering this special to you, too. This technique can be done over the phone, just as much as in person, so anyone inside Utah or not can take advantage of this.

This technique takes about 30-45 minutes and usually a session for 40 minutes is $50.00, and an hour $75.00. So, I am offering a 40 minute session for each person who would like to do this (client or otherwise) for the next two weeks only, until the end of October, at half price and have a 40 minute sessino for $25.00. If you add the next 20 minutes on and want a full hour session, I will offer that at an extra $10.00 equally $35.00 for the session. This is the lowest price for a session I have had since beginning my practice. Each person may only purchase a one-hour session for that price. If you have done this procedure with me already, then you may use that hour for whatever you like. If you have not, I will do this technique on you first and then any additional time can be spent healing other areas of your body or mind.

So, if you wish to take advantage of this special, email me at mycoach4u@theclearingcure.com or call me at 801-967-5113 and we will schedule you in. This has been so amazing for so many of my clients, I cannot stress how important I feel this is for all of you to experience! Just make sure you do this before the end of the month, even if we have to schedule this in after October, you must CALL me during October to get the special price.

I hope all of you are doing wonderful!

Hugs to all,
Karen

Emotions and Diabetes

Ways to Tap In Help
The Clearing Cure

To most people, emotions and diabetes are two things that are not usually associated with each other. Whether you have juvenile diabetes, adult onset diabetes, type I diabetes, or type II diabetes, emotions or trauma questions do not usually come up when visiting with a doctor. The methods of choice for “maintaining” this disease are drugs and a few diet modifications.

One of the biggest mistakes that I believe doctors make in relation to diabetes is their failure to emphasize strongly enough the “diet” part. Type II diabetes is one that can be totally corrected with a good diabetic diet and proper exercise. However, this can still be an ongoing problem with people, as getting rid of sugar, most grains, and processed foods from your diet is a very difficult thing to do, although many have done this and reaped the rewards of reversing their diabetes entirely. Diet can even control gestational diabetes in pregnant mothers, if you can get past the food cravings and morning sickness.

There is also a study out that has shown black tea to be of help for diabetics. The polysaccharides in black tea and some green teas have been shown to benefit people because they help retard the absorption of glucose.

I could go on and on about studies being done to help those with diabetes. I could even get more into the “why” or “how” you get this disease, but, for this article, we are going to concentrate on the relationship of emotions to diabetes.

So, what do emotions have to do with diabetes?

Whenever you experience a trauma, or an emotionally charged event, those emotions attached themselves to some part of your body—and usually at its weakest point. If diabetes runs in your family, then a trauma or emotionally charged event could trigger the diabetes. If your kidneys are “weak,” those emotions will attach themselves to that area, suppressing the kidneys ability to function at full capacity. If the emotion is triggered again and again over the years, it will continue to affect the function of the kidneys, which will then lead, at some point, to the diagnosis of diabetes.

There are also emotions that seem to be drawn more to the kidneys than other parts of the body. In fact, there are several books on the market that point out what these emotions are. My personal favorite is Karol Truman’s book, Feelings Buried Alive Never Die. In this book, she carefully documents the emotions she has found to be prevalent in the kidneys. These emotions are ones of judging yourself or others severely; being disappointed in life; having ongoing feelings of sorrow; dealing with emotional shock; feeling a complete lack of joy in your life; believing that life should have been different; being obsessed with wanting to control everyone and everything; and being ashamed of something you did in the past.

So, having documented all of these emotions, does that mean someone with diabetes has all of these? No. Each person is different. One person may react to some of the emotions stated above and find that it really fits them; another person may respond completely differently. However, in my research, I have found that diabetics do react to at least one or two of these emotions and thus have that emotion buried quite deep inside, repressing it into the kidneys, which then suppresses its functioning capabilities.

With that being said, how do you fix the problem? How do you free the kidneys from the suppressed emotions?

One way is with psychological acupressure. This is an extremely effective tool for clearing out emotional baggage attached to specific organs. This is a tool that can also correct other things in relation to the diabetes, not just the emotions suppressing the kidneys. Diabetes is not just a problem of sugars. It is also a problem of how your leptin and insulin signal each other. Psychological acupressure can also be used in this area—to ask your body to correct this problem. You can also correct allergies with this process. Most diabetics are allergic to their own insulin and leptin, thus clearing this allergy can allow your body to regulate them more effectively.

Let’s take just one example of how to tap out these emotions from your kidneys. Take the emotion of being ashamed of something you did in the past. You would first start with the reversal to make sure your subconscious is okay with your releasing it from your body. To do this, you simply apply a little bit of reverse psychology, hence the term “reversal.” You take the karate chop area on your body (the side of your hand that connects with the board when doing a karate chop) and using two fingers of your opposite hand you tap continuously on this point while making a statement. This statement consists of an “even though I don’t want to do this” part, and an “I’m okay” part. You state, “Even though I don’t want to give up being ashamed for all these things in my past, I’m okay.” That’s it. Just one time and you are reversed.

This actually must be done prior to clearing any memories or emotions, as the subconscious will not allow you to release it if it feels you are not safe or protected. Telling your subconscious that you don’t want to give this up, but that you are okay even if you do, is the reverse psychology statement and allows the subconscious to be okay with your releasing this energy.

When a person tells me that he/she has no will power, or just can’t find the desire to motivate himself/herself to do something, it tells me that he/she is working against his/her subconscious and needs to reverse it in order to have that power to do what he/she needs to do. If you think about the subconscious as a mega computer that processes everything, and your conscious state is a small desk model, then you can see how trying to overpower that mega computer could be a hard thing to do. A reversal simply makes sure that both the conscious and subconscious minds are in sync.

After doing the reversal, you are now ready to clear out the emotion. This is the same kind of setup, but you make the statement without using the word “don’t” in there, as you have already reversed it. The statement would consist of something like this, “Even though I am so ashamed of things I have done in my past, and this is living in my kidneys, causing it to not function properly, I deeply and completely accept myself.” This time, however, you are going to make that statement three times while continuously tapping on your karate chop point.

Then, you continue this process by going through the EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) set up by taking two fingers and tapping on the inside corner of your eye and making the statement, “I am ashamed of all of the things from my past.” You then continue making this same statement at each of the points, i.e., outside corner of the eyebrow, under the eye, under the nose, on the chin, on the collarbone point, and, finally, under the arm. You then tap on the crown of your head and make a positive statement such as "I choose to let this feeling release from my body.”

As you do this, really listen to your mind and write down any memories that might come up of your being ashamed of something you did. Then, using this same technique, clear out each of these memories from your kidneys. As you release these emotions, it allows your kidneys to begin to function properly again, thus enabling your body to handle sugars more effectively.

So, you are now EMPOWERED with a tool that can change your life. The positive energy you send out is what you draw to you. You can, however, choose to tap, or not to tap, but I have now given you the key. The next step is yours.

The Motivation Mind Game

Ways to Tap In Help
The Clearing Cure

Do you ever FEEL like it is an uphill battle just to get your butt out of bed and out the door in the morning? Does the word “workout” bring on a feeling of dread and emotional trauma? Do you ever feel like you have no energy—and it’s only noon? Do you feel POWERLESS in your life on how to affect a change? If so, how many times have you heard this same description used for various classes or workshops you have taken and books you have bought on how to get energy and motivation back into your life? And despite these resources, how many times have you slipped back into those former, non-productive patterns of thinking?

So, how do you TAKE BACK THAT POWER and face your life with enthusiasm and zeal? There are many classes and books out there today advertising a plethora of ways to do just that. For example, the “7 Secrets to Maintaining your Motivation” talks about focus, belief, habits, emotional reactions, energy, your surroundings, and time management. These are great tools at helping you identify the problems. In fact, there are many excellent books and workshops out there that do a great job of giving you the tools you need to identify the problems. However, once you identify these problems and do all that is necessary to learn what tools are available to help you overcome these problems, the problem is the problems are still there! You still need to learn how to overcome your problems.

It is now an undisputed fact that our “emotional” state creates a significant impact on our mind and body. The stress we create in our day-to-day lives is massive and very comparable to how our ancestors would handle stress. If a bear came at them, their amygdala would take control, pumping blood to the arms and legs, raising their blood pressure and heart rate, preparing them to run away or to fight. It’s called the “fight or flight” response. However, the stress that we create in our lives today is not just a one-time bear attack; it is an ongoing realistic part of almost every day. We are at a heightened emotional stress level on a daily basis, which is very bad for the body, and creates all sorts of very real physical and emotional problems.

In a heightened, emotionally stressed state, energy and motivation go out the window, along with the ability to process food normally, effectively burn calories, lose weight, and build muscle. Your cholesterol and triglycerides go up, blood pressure increases, and your stomach flora decreases, which then creates allergies, gastroesophageal reflux, heartburn, high blood pressure, etc. Along with all of this, your cortisol and insulin levels increase, leaving you prone to even more things, such as diabetes, metabolic syndrome, heart problems, and central obesity. Stress is BAD every way you look at it. But stress is especially BAD with regards to your energy level, ability to function in a motivated state, or even have the physical ability to do so. No wonder motivation is such a hard state to maintain.

Stress is definitely one key component, but there are also other problems that keep you stuck on the couch. How about that memory from your youth where you were told you were a good-for- nothing-person, or the memory of being told how lazy you were and that you would never amount to anything? Memories such as these are key components as well, and lead to thought processes that you subconsciously fight all the time, such as, “I’m not good enough to do this”, or “Nothing I do is going to be good enough.” This most often ends up being a battle of the will and the subconscious usually wins. All of these components, combined with the physical problems/disease associated with the emotional state we are in, leads to a serious lack of motivation to do just about anything, except just exist day-to-day, never realizing those dreams we had or progressing forward in our lives.

So my thought is “why not just release the problems as we identify them?” I know, it is kind of a revolutionary approach. Clear away the brush so that the path STAYS clear! But that is, simply put, the power of psychological acupressure.

The first thing to do is to use the psychological acupressure to bring your subconscious energy in line with what you truly want to do. This is called a “reversal.” To do this, you take the part of your body known as the karate chop point (the part of the side of your hand that hits the board when doing a karate chop) and make a statement like, “Even though I don’t want to calm the stress center of my brain, I’m okay,” and “Even though I don’t want to get over these issues and memories dealing with motivation, I’m okay.” This will reverse your energy in your subconscious and allow it to be in sync with your mind on what you want to do.

The next step is to tap out the stress response in your amygdala and calm it down. Your amygdala is the part of the brain that is responsible for the “fight or flight” response. To do this, you need to tap this statement three times at the karate chop point: “Even though my amygdala is hyperactive causing a low-level stress response in my body, I choose to be calm and centered.” Then tap the area known as the 9-gamut point on the back of your hand, about a half inch behind the middle point between your ring finger and little finger knuckle. This point ties in right to your brain, as the optic nerve is directly linked to parts of the brain, so you do specific eye motions as you tap this area in order to direct your energy to that specific area of the brain. At this point, i.e., the 9-gamut point, tap as you make the statement: “My amygdala is hyperactive and causing a stress response in my body.” Then do your eye motions as you keep tapping that point. These are: Look up, look down, close your eyes, open your eyes, look down hard to the right, look down hard to the left, roll your eyes one way, then back the other, and then sing a few bars to any song (right brain), then count from 1-5 (left brain). Tap on top of your head and make the statement, “I choose to be calm and centered.”

After calming down the amygdala, it should calm down the low-level stress response and put you back into a non-stress level state. However, stress has a way of coming at you again and again all day long. Clearing past trauma associated with the amygdala is important, but until you can do it with a certified professional, just keep clearing your amygdala three or four times a day for awhile to keep you in a good calm and centered state.

After calming down the brain center, you now need to keep on working at ridding yourself of those past memories and thought processes you say to yourself, ones that keep you on that couch and not doing what you want to do in your life. Ways to tap out these events/emotions would be to just take a moment when you feel particularly unmotivated and try to evaluate why. If a memory or thought process comes up, try tapping the emotion/thought out exactly as you think it. This would start at the karate chop point again and the sentence to do this would be something like, “Even though I feel so incompetent and don’t believe in my own abilities to do this, I deeply and completely accept myself.” Then tap at these points: inner eye, outer eye, under the eye, under the nose, on the chin, on the collarbone, and under your arm, making negative statements like, “I am so incompetent,” or “I am not able to do this on my own,” etc. Do the same thing with traumas that you can remember, where you feel those same emotions.

When you clear out these emotions and thought processes, and your body is out of its stress response, you feel emotionally clear and free, fully capable to do what you need to do. Try this technique in relation to any of the problems you have identified in past workshops and clear out the beliefs that keep you stuck from doing them. Instead of working against your subconscious, bring your energy in sync with it and clear the path to an extraordinary life.

So, you are now EMPOWERED. You can choose to tap, or not to tap, but I have now given you the key. The next step is yours.

HELP! I'm Allergic to Money

Ways to Tap In Help
The Clearing Cure

Money! To most people, this is a dirty word. To your body, it’s considered an allergy. So, how do YOU feel about Money? When you see someone who obviously has money, what do you think? What we feel and think about has a direct result on how we receive and keep money. If money is a dirty word to you, bringing up connotations of evil people doing bad things, then energetically you will push money away because your subconscious believes it is evil!

You can get a wide range of responses when you ask a group of people what their feelings are about money. Some even have a hard time voicing the word, as “money” carries with it an evil connotation. Spiritual beliefs come into play as well. Most religions teach that money corrupts people, so the belief that the money is evil is prevalent, and that money will corrupt even the most noble. Therein is the belief that you can’t have it all. You cannot be happy and rich at the same time.

Even in our culture, in movies, and on TV, we see rich people doing strange things. Not always utilizing their money for good, acting selfish and amoral. We often find ourselves in groups scoffing at the rich and consciously and subconsciously rooting for their downfall. We often feel they are just “lucky.” That they did not work for it, that it was just given to them. Thus, we tend to feel that money is not fair, that either you are just “lucky” or you have to work really hard for it, often putting in an enormous number of hours at work trying to get ahead. The thought that you don’t deserve to have money is often the result of such thoughts.

Safety issues also come into play when you think about being able to make money. Others, even family members, tend to shun those who are able to make money and keep it, often judging them harshly. We all try to stay away from things that we know others will judge us harshly on, so our mental safety is in jeopardy if we make a large amount of money; thus, subconsciously, we push it away. Safety also comes into play when thinking about taxes. If you make too much, you will be in a higher tax bracket, so some will not make a good income just to “stick it” to the IRS and show them who really is boss.

This emotional state creates quite a quandary for us when we are trying to make a good living. We tend to create what is called a “set point” with regard to our wealth. We determine in our subconscious what amount we can make and feel comfortable doing so, all the while bringing up the emotions that we aren’t good enough to have a lot of money, or we’re an evil person if we make too much money and will be judged as such. That amount we create in our minds is the amount we usually are making at this point in our life, and it is either not enough or, it may be enough, but we just can’t seem to keep our hands on it; we seem to go through what we make very fast. Why? Because we believe we don’t deserve it, so we get rid of it before anyone notices.

The emotions listed above are what we call “limiting beliefs.” These are beliefs that keep us stuck in a cycle, never really making progress. Most of these thought processes or beliefs are ones that lie deep in our subconscious, only rearing their ugly head when we attempt to move past them. They are very powerful beliefs, but not necessarily ones that you would consciously think of when trying to get a better job or to make more money. The best way to flesh out what you truly feel about money is to stop for a minute and look over the emotions listed above. Do any of them trigger a response? When you sit down and think about your debt and the money you make, what emotions come to the surface? Do you feel like it will never be enough? Do you deserve to make enough? Does the thought come up that if you could just make enough to cover the bills you would be happy? Do you have a hard time even envisioning what that would be like?

If some of these questions trigger a response and you would like to get past that, then let me introduce you to the new world of “psychological acupressure.” Acupressure itself is known worldwide for targeting blocks in our energy system and clearing that point, thus enabling the energy to flow freely and allowing our body to heal itself. Psychological acupressure is the same concept, only it begins with the belief that emotions have an energetic charge and get stuck somewhere in our body. In fact, the belief that emotions cause disease is not a new one. The studies done in relation to stress are overpowering in their outcome. Stress causes physical problems. Emotional trauma causes physical problems. So, just take it one step further now: limiting beliefs cause an emotional block that keeps us mired in its clutches. The subconscious mind is very powerful and can override conscious thoughts.

So, even though just the title of psychological acupressure can be intimidating, let me give you an introductory lesson on how you can clear these blocks on your own and move past some of these beliefs that are keeping you bogged down.

First of all, we need to clear the allergy that your body carries to money. Money is naturally full of germs. It just passes through too many hands not to pick up something that your body would like to reject. So, find a dollar bill and hold it in your hand. To clear this, we are going to make what is called a set-up statement. This is done at what is called the “circuit board” to your body, or the karate chop point. You take two fingers from your opposite hand and continuously tap on the karate chop area of your hand (the part of the hand that hits the board in a karate chop, on the side where the pinky finger is) and make a statement. This set-up statement is in two parts and can be very simple. You state: “Even though my body is rejecting this money and has developed an allergy to it, I deeply and completely accept myself.” You must always have the negative statement coupled with the positive statement. When you tell your body you are having a problem in an area, you then need to give it a positive thought that alludes to the fact that you are okay with yourself, even though you have this particular problem. This approach enables the body to release the problem, knowing you will be okay without it. The body is just trying to protect you and has an amazing capacity to do that very efficiently.

After making that statement three times while tapping continuously on this karate chop area, you then move up to the actual acupressure points that will clear this allergy. You start on (1) the inside corner of your eyebrow. You take two fingers and continuously tap on this area while making the negative statement, “My body is allergic to this money.” At each point you make that same statement, as you clear blocks in your energy system, by stating the negative. After the inside corner of the eyebrow, you go to (2) the outside corner of the eyebrow and make the same statement. You then proceed to (3) under the eye on your cheekbone, (4) under your nose, (5) on your chin, (6) on your collarbone point (the area that juts out where the neck and upper chest meet), and (7) under your arm (the area where a ladies bra would be). At each of these points you are making that negative statement. At the end, tap on the very top of your head, on the crown, and make a positive statement, saying, “I choose to release this allergy.” This is all it takes. It’s a very simple process, but a very effective one.

The next step would be “the reversal.” This is … to reverse the energy system so that it is in line with what you want to do. Another word for it is “will power.” When you feel like you have no will power, it is usually your subconscious overpowering your conscious thoughts and a reversal is what can bring it in sync. It is very simple to do. You simply tap continuously at your karate chop and make the statement: “Even though I don’t deserve to make good money, I’m okay,” or “Even though I don’t feel safe with that kind of money, I’m okay.” It is a statement that says, even though I don’t want _____ (wealth, abundance, safety, etc), I’m okay. You only do this ONE time at your karate chop point, not three, and that is all you do. If you tell your body you do not want something, it reverses your energy so you do. Simplistic approach, but very effective.

So now that we have our allergy gone, and our energy is in sync, let’s take a moment to sit down and relax, and take a few minutes to assess where we are in our life and what our true feelings are about money. What sentences above triggered a response in us? Do we have a memory of a parent or teacher giving us some advice about money and its evils? If so, these are the things we need to release. We do this the same way we cleared the allergy, but with a different set-up statement. These set-up statements would be something like this: “Even though I feel money is evil, I deeply and completely accept myself,” or “Even though I have this memory of my dad telling me that rich people make their money off the backs of the poor, I deeply and completely accept myself,” or “Even though I will be judged if I make a lot of money, I deeply and completely accept myself.” These are just examples of some of the ways to make these statements. Then at each point listed above, i.e., inner eyebrow, outer eyebrow, under eye, under nose, on chin, collarbone, and under the arm, make the negative part of the statement, i.e. “money is evil,” “I will be judged if I make a lot of money,” or “I have this memory from my dad making me believe that rich people are evil.”
Finish all of these statements by tapping continuously on the top of the head while making the statement, “I choose to release these past emotions regarding money.”

That is how we clear that limiting thought process. However, as you clear a sentence, pay attention to what you are thinking. If you are clearing the fact that you believe money is evil, and a memory of someone telling you that pops into your brain, you need to clear that memory the same way you just cleared the belief. Your body is amazing at how it will bring up issues relating to what you are clearing, but you just need to listen and pay attention to what you are thinking.

So, you are now EMPOWERED with a tool that can change your financial life. The positive energy you send out is what you draw to you. You can, however, choose to tap, or not to tap, but I have now given you the key. The next step is yours.

How To Get Motivated, When You Don't Feel Like It.

Ways to Tap In Help
The Clearing Cure

How often do you feel like a heavy weight is anchoring your body to the couch, eliminating any drive or ambition to do ANYTHING at the end of the day? Is the only thing that interests you is watching TV, even if you feel like nothing is really on that interests you? If so, then motivation is a key issue here, but not just the motivation, even the desire to get the motivation is gone. This is usually indicative of your energy being massively reversed. So before you really get down and start tapping, let’s do a few reversals. At your karate chop point, tap out the following reversals: “Even though I don’t want any energy, I’m okay,” “Even though I don’t want to feel motivated, I’m okay,” “Even though I don’t want to be happy and excited, I’m okay,” “Even though I don’t want to do anything, I’m okay.” All of the statements should be about things you don’t want to do and only have to be tapped one time on the karate chop point. This will reverse your energy so that you are not “working against” your subconscious, which is the same thing as saying “you have no will power.”

Now that you are reversed, why you do not feel the motivation is a good place to begin tapping. You can start with how it feels to you. If the feeling is like a heavy weight, then let’s start with that. Tap on your karate chop point and structure the sentence like, “Even though I feel this heavy weight anchoring me to the couch, I deeply and completely accept myself.” Then you would take each point, i.e. inner eye, outer eye, under eye, under nose, on chin, collarbone, under arm, and add the 9-gamut point, as this is the tie in to your brain, and tap out negative statements like, “I feel anchored to the couch,” or “I feel too heavy inside to move,” and end on top of the head with, “I feel energy lightening my load.”

The 9-gamut point is an important point when it comes to motivational issues, as the brain plays a huge part in your ability to get motivated. Your anterior cingulate is the center of your brain that deals with fears and your desire to progress past those fears. Your prefrontal cortex is the center of your brain responsible for procrastination as well. So, just with these two centers, it is important to address issues that may tie into that area and doing the 9-gamut point will accomplish that, as the optic nerve is a direct connection to the brain and when you move your eyes, the brain is stimulated. You do this by tapping on the back of the hand, one-half inch behind the midpoint between the knuckle of the ring and the little finger. Then as you tap on that point, you make your negative statement, such as one of the ones listed above, and then do the eye movements, i.e. look up, look down, close your eyes, open your eyes, look down hard to the right, then down hard to the left, roll your eyes one way, roll them back the other way, hum a tune to Happy Birthday to you (right brain), then count one through five very fast (left brain), and then hum again. This will stimulate the brain to release that negative feeling from the area where it is trapped.

Now that you are hopefully feeling a little lighter, the next step is to take the time to think about why you are on the couch. What stressors during the day are predominant in your mind? Take each one of the memories that pop into your mind and tap each one of them out, as above, with the 9-gamut as part of the process. As each one is cleared, you should be feeling more energy coming into your body.

As you feel energy and more motivation, and after you have tapped out all of the stressors of the day, do some chakra tapping and tap in some motivational thoughts. The best way to remember chakra points is to just tap down the center of the body, i.e., the top of your head, middle of the eyebrows, under the nose, on the chin, the five-finger circle tap on the sternum, the five-finger circle tap around the belly button, and then inside of the knees. Tap in anything positive and energetic that you can think of, but when creating statements, think of ways to make them sound exciting. The sentence, “I feel energy,” is completely different than, “I feel energy pulsating through my body.” How you state them is also important. Become a great actor/actress. Become animated with each statement, convincing your body that you are actually feeling that way. It works like a charm.

Now, let’s address how not to get into that situation in the first place. In researching tips on how to keep you motivated, and beat the coach potato syndrome, I thought the following five were the best. So, as we go through each one, we will give you ideas on how to tap it out so that it is more effective.

1. Become organized and plan ahead. Start the day with your positive affirmations. Do them as energetically as you can, as mentioned above. Since you never know what will happen, take the time to think through options of how you will handle problems. Do reversals when you find yourself slipping into the feeling that you are working against yourself, having no will power.
2. Get something done prior to checking e-mail or getting on social networking sites. If you find you are spending too much time on the social sites, do a reversal like, “Even though I don’t want to stop wasting so much time on this site, I’m okay.” Set a timer and time yourself. Time goes by fast and oftentimes we spend much more time that we think on the Internet. If you are spending too much time there, try to figure out the real reason why. What are you trying to avoid by being on there? After you do some soul searching, take time to tap out each of those reasons, as dictated above.
3. Minimize your distractions. Turn off the TV. Try to create a productive environment. When you find that you are being distracted, take a few minutes and tap out why.
4. If you are being distracted by a pressing problem, or the need to just get away, go ahead and take that walk, or take care of whatever you need to, and then get back to being productive. This would be a good time to tap on your ability to concentrate. Why are you not concentrating? Are there problems in your life that keep coming into your mind? If so, take each one of them and tap them out.
5. Give yourself a reward for getting your tasks accomplished. Build them into your day. Make sure the reward is not food. Reward yourself with activities, or time with people. Something that gives you a feeling of satisfaction.

Just remember that if you feel like you are powering down during the day, start by doing some reversals. This will bring your energy back in line with what you would like to do. If you are still struggling, find out the real reason by doing a little soul searching. What is it that is really bugging you? A fight with your spouse, or child, or not feeling satisfied in your job could be the real reason you are distracted and find your motivation slipping away. Anger is a powerful and very draining emotion. Make sure to tap it out immediately before it zaps your energy.

So, you are now EMPOWERED. You can choose to tap, or not to tap, but I have now given you the key. The next step is yours.

The Dreaded Kidney Stone

Ways to Tap In Help
The Clearing Cure

Ah, the dreaded kidney stones. The list of myths surrounding this condition is immense. Does diet and region you live in factor in to whether or not you will get them? How about genetics? What about our consumption of carbonated drinks? What, if anything, can you do about it?

Most everyone knows the pain associated with this condition. It can be excruciating and much like childbirth, at least I am told, as I have not had this condition as of yet. However, my mother has suffered from them before, and my sister has on multiple occasions. So, I have always wondered if that increased my chances of getting them.

According to Dr. Mercola, in his article Who Knew Preventing Kidney Stones Was this Easy, roughly 1 million Americans develop kidney stones each year and if you get them once, your chance of recurrence goes up about 70-80 percent. Genetics do increase your risk, but so does the fact that you are a man. Men have a risk four times greater than women. The region you live in also plays a part in your risk factor. The southeastern part of the United States is referred to as the “Kidney Stone Belt.” The Middle East is also a region where the risk is nearly double what they are in the United States, mainly due to the warmer climate, which indicates that chronic dehydration can also predispose you to kidney stones. The worst part is the rate of kidney stone occurrences are on the rise, even in children.

The way your body absorbs and eliminates calcium seem to be the main culprit on why individuals form these stones. Sometimes an underlying cause can be a metabolic disorder or kidney disease. However, the reason your kidneys have problems absorbing and eliminating calcium is due to a hyper acidic or hyper alkaline state, which is due to a large part by your diet. Other factors can be certain drugs that promote kidneys stones, as well as our environment.

Risk factors that I have researched that contribute to kidney stones include not drinking enough water, mainly because you just have higher concentrations of substances in your kidneys that can form stones, a sedentary lifestyle, high blood pressure, digestive problems that affect your absorption of calcium and other minerals, a diet high in sugar and high fructose corn syrup, drinking soda (for many reasons), diets high in processed salt, too much soy in your diet, and caffeine. That encompasses quite a few individuals who have high risk factors for this condition.

So, what can be done about all of this before you get them? According to research, it is the same thing that you should do to avoid almost any kind of disease. You stay hydrated, eat a balanced diet, avoid taking prescription drugs when you can, avoid sugar, soy, caffeine, excess salt, and processed foods, get plenty of exercise, and make sure you have adequate magnesium and vitamin B6 in your diet, which both have shown promise in helping prevent kidney stone formation. A cinch, right?

Well, since we all know that is not as easy as it sounds, lets go through a few preventative things to do with respect to tapping that can help.

Emotions are huge factors in how our kidneys function. The emotions that usually attach themselves to the kidneys and formation of stones in particular are hardening anger that we stuff down and don’t let out in healthy ways, relationship problems between you and other people, and trying to control your life, but being unable to do so. That loss of power, coupled with the other two issues, gives your body the okay to form these stones, especially if the environment is primed for them.

Making sure you are not stuffing those emotions into your body is a top priority, as this could cause a lot of problems, not just kidney stones. One way to tap these out would be to just directly ask the body to clear out the hardened anger from your kidneys. You could structure your sentence by stating, “Even though I have this hardened anger suppressed into my kidneys, I deeply and completely accept myself.” This statement would be stated three times at the karate chop point and then at each point, i.e. inner eye, outer eye, under eye, under nose, on chin, collarbone, and under arm (don’t miss this point, as it is your kidney point), make a negative statement like, “I have hardened anger in my kidneys,” or “I am suppressing my anger into my kidneys.” Then on top of your head state, “I choose to release the suppressed anger from my kidneys.” You could then proceed to do the same thing with statements directed at your relationship problems, and taking back control of your life. Just make sure all statements you do are directed at the kidneys.

Other ways of tapping out problems, would be to tap on different aspects of your risk factors and their relation to the function of the kidneys. Some of the things you could tap out are your ability to absorb calcium or minerals correctly, and on how the kidney functions as a whole. Your kidneys are major players in high blood pressure, which is a risk factor, so after doing the above statements with regards to the emotional components (and hopefully you will clear out original traumas doing that), try tapping on statements like, “Even though my kidneys are not functioning properly and not secreting enough rennin to control my blood pressure, I deeply and completely accept myself,” or “Even though my kidneys are not regulating the acidity of my body fluids correctly, I deeply and completely accept myself.” Keep your negative statements at each of the above stated points very simple, i.e. “My kidneys are not regulating the acidity in my body,” or “My kidneys are not secreting enough rennin.” Always finish it off with the top of the head and make a positive statement like, “I choose to have my body correct this.”

Some other things that will help with clearing kidney stones and making sure your kidneys are functioning properly is to periodically do a cleanse with black cherry juice, not cranberry juice, as black cherry is better for the kidneys. You can find this in concentrated forms in your health food stores or on line. Just make sure there is no sugar in it. For stones in particular, if you get them, you can use four (4) cans of Classic Coke to be taken within a two-hour period, and this will go in and dissolve them. Remember not to use any of the diet versions or new brands of Coke. It needs to be the original Classic version.

So, you are now EMPOWERED. You can choose to tap, or not to tap, but I have now given you the key. The next step is yours.

Stress and Weight Loss

Ways to Tap In Help
The Clearing Cure

In my studies of tapping out emotional connections to food and helping people lose weight, I have recently run across some new information that has helped me more than anything else at losing the weight and getting off my plateaus. The epiphany was this: “There is a direct correlation between weight loss and your stress level!” I actually always knew this in a way, but really did not understand the full impact of stress on our bodies until I started to research it.

The dictionary definition of stress is “any real or imagined threat, and your body’s response to it.” This can be a good thing, as well as a negative thing. Stress is not entirely negative. Some stress can be avoided and other stress cannot, and some stress can even be beneficial, but it becomes a problem when the stress starts impacting your body in a bad way.

When you have an understanding of psychological acupressure, you know that emotions impact the body in every way possible. Emotions can actually create physiological changes. These changes include your skin, heart rate, digestion, joints, muscles, hair, systems, organs, and even your brain.

Stress is one of these emotions that can cause harmful side effects and when we eat in a state of stress or anxiety, which is pretty much all the time for most people, there are particularly bad side effects. The best way to explain this is to outline what happens when you are stressed. Our bodies are made to react to a stress emotion by getting ready to flee or to fight. It’s called the “fight or flight” response. It increases your blood pressure, heart rate, and increases the blood into your arms and legs in order to get ready to flee. With regards to weight loss, however, this response is not helpful because it shunts blood away from your midsection and virtually shuts down your digestive system.

When you eat under stress, even if you are eating the healthiest food in the world, you will not be able to fully digest and absorb the food and nutrients from that food and your body will not be able to burn calories effectively. Since all that blood and oxygen are being used elsewhere, your metabolism also suffers, plus you will see a decrease in the enzymes in your stomach. Your cholesterol and triglycerides then go up because of the decreasing stomach flora, which then leads you to be more sensitive to food, which then, in turn, creates allergies, gastroesophageal reflux, and heartburn.

If that isn’t bad enough, the most important factor, when your body creates this stress response, is that your cortisol and insulin levels rise. These are two very important hormones! When your cortisol is consistently elevated, as it is when we are in a state of low-level stress response, you have difficulty losing weight or building muscle. Cortisol is also responsible for gaining weight around your midsection. This is the type of fat that builds up around your internal organs known as visceral fat. Visceral fat is a major contributing factor to developing diabetes and having metabolic syndrome.

Metabolic syndrome is a particularly negative thing with regards to weight loss. It is closely associated with insulin resistance where the body cannot use insulin effectively. This syndrome also leads to high cholesterol, which can then lead to all sorts of heart problems, raised blood pressure, central obesity, and a proinflammatory state. It definitely is not up there on your list of diseases you want to have.

Having stress is bad in so many ways. But what, if anything, can we do about it, especially with regards to losing weight? It’s not like you can eliminate stress entirely from your life. However, there are ways to minimize and reduce stress in our bodies, especially with regards to psychological acupressure.

Some of the emotions that accompany stress and weight loss are craving closeness, feelings of insecurity, self-rejection, and your body’s need to protect you. Traumas that you stuff inside are kept in your fat and when you have feelings that are unfulfilled, that is stuffed inside as well. These are all emotions that need to be released from your weight and the traumas surrounding them. We also sometimes use food to substitute for affection, and when we are feeling the loss of that affection, that stresses the body, creating a cyclical process that keeps you holding on to that stress and that fat.

Ways to tap out these events/emotions would be to just take a moment before you eat and try to evaluate whether you are truly hungry, stressed, or emotionally needy. If it is stress or emotions that you sense more than hunger, try tapping the emotion/stress out first then reassess to see if you are truly hungry. A sentence to do this would be something like, “Even though I feel so alone, and I am using food to substitute for the need to have someone holding me, I deeply and completely accept myself.” Then tap at each point, i.e., inner eye, outer eye, under eye, under nose, on chin, collarbone, and under your arm, making negative statements like, “I am so alone,” or “I am eating to substitute for love,” etc. Do the same thing with traumas that you can remember where you felt those same emotions.

One other thing to do is to tap in order to calm the stress response in your amygdala. Your amygdala is the part of the brain that is responsible for the “fight or flight” response. Tap this statement three times at your karate chop point: “Even though my amygdala is hyperactive causing a low-level stress response in my body, I choose to be calm and centered.” Then, instead of tapping the usual points, just go straight to your 9-gamut point on the back of your hand, about a half inch behind the middle point between your ring finger and little finger knuckle. Tap that point and state: “My amygdala is hyperactive and causing a stress response in my body.” Then do your eye motions, which tie in the parts of your brain with the emotion you are trying to clear.

After calming down the amygdala, it should calm down the low-level stress response and put you back into a good metabolic and digestive state. However, stress has a way of coming at you again and again all day long. Clearing past trauma associated with the amygala is important, but until you can do that, just keep clearing your amygdala three or four times a day for awhile to keep you in a good calm and centered state. That should aid your metabolism in getting back to normal and what you eat can now be digested at optimum levels.

So, you are now EMPOWERED. You can choose to tap, or not to tap, but I have now given you the key. The next step is yours.

My New Places of Work

So, I’m finally I my new offices. They are great! Today, I am blogging about them and what they have to offer. It has been very important for me to make sure I align myself with people who are of like mind. Those who believe in healing the whole person, not just one part of the person. In this respect, you get the whole package, emotional clearing and feeling good in the process.

So, here is a synopsis of both places I will be working from. I will be at Abundant Health Chiropractic and Massage on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 to 4, and at A New You on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12 (noon) to 7.

A New You, 1222 West 12600 South, #303, Riverton, UT 801-302-3800.

They have a very neat machine called a TurboSonic that helps you with stimulating your lymphatic system, nervous system, etc. The first two sessions are free (10 minutes each) and then it is only $5.00 from there on. I have found this to be a great way to get your body systems stimulated and working properly, especially as we release emotions surrounding the organs and systems, thus allowing them to be working in optimum health.

Another great thing they have are therapy machines for those who have a problem with movement, such as stroke victims, or people with fibromyalgia. You are strapped onto a machine and the machine actually does the work for you. They also have a set up of machines a little bit like the Curves circle that you go from machine to machine and do a workout.

They also have machine therapists who work with energy systems, back and neck massages, Quantum touch, among others. They have nutrition products, the It Work Wraps, and a great line of hair products.

Really, it is just a portion of what they offer there and I have been so pleased with all of the wonderful things they have to offer my clients.
