LOL I have learned a LOT of things this past week about myself.

First– it is hard to change your eating habits when you are inundated with party after party after get together. However, it is NOT impossible.  Yes, I ate a few more things than I should have, but all-in-all I have done great, and I pat myself on the back for that! You have to learn to take success a little at a time sometimes.

Second – My metabolism is totally shot. I started asking myself how much of a percentage my metabolism was working at. It was at 4%! AUGH!!!! No wonder I have a hard time losing weight.  At least I have an excuse now. So, this is going to be one of the first things I do with this program. I am going to check metabolisms and what percentage they are working at. I released the blocks (all of the emotional of course) and then fixed it so it is now at 100%. YEAH! Isn’t psychological acupressure wonderful!

Third – I have total lack of control of my eating habits, and had no desire to do anything about it. When I first started this, I was struggling with giving up just eating what I wanted. So, I tapped it out, of course. I went into my core this time – this is a new thing I have just recently learned and put into practice with my clients. Clearing emotions out in the core means you can clear them from your ENTIRE body! Then if you check a week from now and find that you have it again, you can check back and find the trigger and release it, so you stop triggering. This was a phenomenal find for me. When I released that “lack of control” I have actually had an easier time with changing my eating habits. I am not struggling with it. So, this was a fantastic thing and I will be incorporating this into my regimen as well.

I have been drinking the drink to bring my body to a good pH and have actually found it to be quite satisfying. It is just like tasting minty water. Not bad at all. It is not thick or anything like that and it is just like drinking your water. I have found it to be satisfying as well.

I have also learned a lot about dehydration and what that does to your body. If you feel bloated, that is a sign of dehydration. If you are depleted, your body holds onto all the water it can, thus you bloat. So, making sure I drink enough is a big deal. I feel like I am drinking all the time, but I also feel better and my dry throat has gone away as well. It’s amazing what water can do!

So, now you have all the dirt on me. No, I have not been perfect, but yes, I am making headway. I will be finishing up that metabolism test and then finding out what kind of metabolism I am and then blog about it next.

Hope your Christmas is a Merry one!

Hugs to all,
Karen

A New Weight Loss Plan

Hey all,

Time to blog again! However, I am very excited to blog about this new program and my experiences with it. My problem has been that most diet systems are a one size fits all type of program. I have failed at so many as my metabolism is just totally shot from all the medications I had been on for so many years with my fibromyalgia. Now that I am fibro free and free of all medications, I have lost 50 lbs with the emotional releases and clearing out that kind of baggage, but I am STUCK!

I was very excited when Jed from Thin & Healthy put me on his program and lost over 7 lbs in the few weeks I was on it, but then he had to close down and I had to stop that program. I then met Dr. Laurie Patterson who has a great nutrition background and a product called Liv Sxinney that actually gets your body into a good pH balance so that you can lose weight; however, that is only a part of weight loss, we needed to put together a WHOLE PACKAGE!!!

So, here is how it goes so far. I will be starting on the Liv Sxinney product tomorrow and testing it out. However, this product is only for those of you who want a jump start to your weight loss, and is an added feature if you want it. I am going to see how effective it is in the next few weeks and will blog on how easy or hard it is to follow. The program is a six-week program and can be done over the phone so people outside of Utah can do this, just as much as those inside Utah.
As this is a program that is not suited for everyone, as some just need a few pounds to lose or really do not want to change their eating habits, we have a requirement of an interview to see if you are ready for this program, or if this is really what you need. After we interview you and see that our desires fit your desires, then we set up time for you to meet with both Dr. Patterson and I just prior to starting the program, and send you a packet with all your info and a questionnaire to determine what type of metabolism you have, so we know what kinds of foods are best for you to eat and how your body will metabolize it.

Dr. Patterson’s first visit will consist of analyzing that questionnaire for you and helping you to understand what type of program you should be put on based upon your metabolism. You will then be given the opportunity to purchase the Liv Sxinney product if you want a quick jump start, or to just start on the metabolism program right away. She will then explain it all, coach you in how to begin, and answer any questions you have about how your body works in relation to food and what you should be eating. It is your own private consultation.

As far as I am concerned, if you are a brand new client, my first session will consist of clearing out the negative energy and creating that safety in your mind/body connection. Then I will release any fears you have about starting, weighing in, measuring yourself, etc. If you are a past client, we will then focus on your fears about weight loss and your original memories regarding your weight and how you view yourself. We will also do some motivation tapping to get you ready and excited to begin your program.

The next step would then be starting your program. After experiencing it for a few days, I will then meet with you a second time and we will clear out allergies to wheat/gluten, etc. I will reset your weight point, and we will tap out leptin, cytokinin, cortisol, and hormonal imbalances and their noncommunication with the hypothalamus, which is where your body determines how much fat you should have on your body. We will also address any emotional problems with the diet, cravings, and fears.

As part of this first week, we will also be starting our weekly support group. This weekly support group will consist of training, as well as tapping in a group setting. The training we will do in these support groups is on the “Emotions of Nutrition.” Each week we will address things like how you are living and how that affects your eating; individualized nutrition and how to think about eating in general, how to maximize nutrition, etc.; energizing yourself and how to do this, how to refill your energy level, how to deal with relationships and stress in regards to weight loss; thinking well and how to calm down, get rid of negative thoughts, how you use food, think about food, or use food to numb yourself, etc.; and finally your support system. Each week we will present info, give you homework to do over the week, and help you set baby set goals to assist you moving forward each week, no matter what level you are on. We will be doing a lot of group tapping at these group meetings.

In the second week, Dr. Patterson will then meet with you again in follow up to answer questions you have about the nutrition end of things and ideas on how to maximize your diet. At this point, I will continue my sessions with you, but at half-hour increments instead of hour ones, and hopefully we will be adding a personal trainer to the mix soon and have this as part of the package.
So, we address the emotional problems, nutrition problems, metabolism problems, exercise problems, and give you a very well rounded, individualized program that anyone can do. I think it will be absolutely AMAZING!!!!

So, stay tuned to here while I try this program out for myself. I think if I can lose on this program through the Holidays …. Then ANYONE can!!!!!
Hugs,
Karen

It's the Holidays!

Wow, it's that time of year again. For me the Holidays are wonderful. I truly enjoy being with my family and having my children around enjoying just being together. However, there are stresses that affect the Holidays and even affect me during them as well.

For me, my biggest stressor is being single. It is so much fun to have someone to snuggle with by the fire. :) Singles, for whatever reason, even widows and widowers, face lonely times during the time of year where being together with families is highlighted and your family is minus a member. Other stressors for me include just the overwhelming things you have to do during the Holidays. All of the work parties, Church parties, regular parties, finding time to shop, wrap, decorate, etc. It can be very overwhelming.

The thing to remember in all of this is to tap out those stressors before they become big problems like stomach aches, migraines, leg pains, backaches, etc. Emotional stresses can become very physical pains if we let them. So, make sure you tap out all of these emotional problems before they get that way. Look at my article under Habit Breakers on Holiday Blues and see how to do this.

My hope in you doing this is that you will find some measure of JOY in your Holidays this year and that your stress level is manageable, so that you can enjoy them.

As this is also the season to serve and help others, I am in my tradition also offering free classes on clearing Holiday Blues and tapping out fears of being single and alone during the Holidays this month and next month will be doing one specifically for Vets and their loved ones. If any of you know people in this situation, let them know about this and I would love to have them along.

I wish you the most wonderful Thanksgiving and joyous time with your family this year.

Hugs to all,
Karen

Holiday Blues and Everyday Stress

How to use acupressure to tap in healing!

Ways to Tap In Help
The Clearing Cure

Are you dreading the Holidays? Do the names Christmas and Thanksgiving create stress just by the mere mention of the names? To some the Holidays bring up issues with family, having to be around them, having to get along, meeting new people, in-laws, deaths of loved ones, etc. To others it’s the loneliness and not having anyone to enjoy it with. Then to others it is the money situation, dealing with buying gifts, too many parties, too much to do, etc. Any way you look at it, the Holidays can create stress and depression.

Some of the situations above can also create emotions that are called “limiting beliefs.” These are beliefs that keep us stuck in a cycle. Most of these thought processes or beliefs are ones that lie deep in our subconscious, only rearing their ugly head when we attempt to move past them, or when they are triggered like during the Holiday period. They are very powerful beliefs. Some of these beliefs would be things like, “I will never have enough time to accomplish everything,” “I will never be happy without someone to spend the Holidays with,” “my in-laws will never understand me,””I will never be happy again during the Holidays since my husband died,” and “I hate parties, I’m just not a party person.”

Whether you are confronting “limiting beliefs” or just dealing with the stress of the situation, acupressure can help; however, they can be dealt with in two separate ways. One is using techniques like psychological acupressure to clear out trauma, beliefs, loneliness, etc., and one is more designed to just boost you through emotional times, limiting the stress response in the body and enabling you to get through some stressful moments. I would like to address the stressful situations first.

There are several acupressure points that are designed specifically to deal with stress. The kind of stress is what is important to identify. There are usually five categories of stress to identify. One is the “garbage” stress where you have a swallowed negative emotion. Something that is just useless stress, like saying something stupid and you can’t get it out of your mind. The second kind of stress is familial stress. This also includes people you have taken into your emotional family. The third kind of stress is empathy stress. This is where you try to share someone else’s burden, such as parents with sick children, doctors with patients, a husband taking on his wife’s emotions, etc. The fourth kind of stress is dumped stress, where customers/neighbors, etc dump their emotions on your shoulders and you assume them. The fifth kind of stress is very similar to the dumped stress, but is a family dumped stress, dealing specifically with family.

After identifying which kind of stress you are dealing with, you now are ready to tap out some of that stress. When using acupressure points, you simply tap on the point using two to three fingers and stimulate the meridian underneath it. Meridians are like the veins and arteries of your energy system. They go throughout your whole body and carry an energetic current. Where they come to the surface is what is called an acupressure point and is where you tap.

The points to tap for the stress of garbage that are useless negative emotions that we carry with us, are the xiphoid, glabella, and then your forehead. You tap the xiphoid process six to seven times, which is the end of the sternum where your ribs end, the pointy part, and then tap the glabella, which is in-between your eyebrows six or seven times, and then hold your emotional trigger points for 20 seconds. These points lie in the middle of your forehead just above your eyes. You take two fingers and hold those two points above your eyes for 10-20 seconds.

The other points are all very similar. For familial stress you tap on the xiphoid process six or seven times, and then the liver point, which is right under the right breast, tap this point using the edge of your hand six or seven times, and then the glabella (in-between the eyes) six or seven times. Then hold the emotional trigger points on your forehead for 10-20 seconds as well.

The empathy points are the end of the xiphoid and the third eye point, which is middle of the forehead, and then holding the emotional correction points in the middle of the forehead for 10-20 seconds. Dumped emotional points are the xiphoid, the spleen point, which is under the left breast just to the left of the line of the nipple and in line with the xiphoid, your third eye point, as above, and then holding the emotional corrections points on your forehead for 10-20 seconds. Family dumped is the xiphoid, the spleen, the liver, third eye point, and then emotional correction points for 10-20 seconds. Remember to tap each point six to seven times and hold the emotional correction points for 10-20 seconds.

So, what do you do now for the trauma, and limiting beliefs. If some of the questions above triggered a response and you would like to get past that, then let me introduce you to the new world of “psychological acupressure.” Acupressure itself is known worldwide for targeting blocks in our energy system and clearing that point, thus enabling the energy to flow freely and allowing our body to heal itself. Psychological acupressure is the same concept, only it begins with the belief that emotions have an energetic charge and get stuck somewhere in our body. Stress causes physical problems. Emotional trauma causes physical problems. So, just take it one step further now: limiting beliefs cause an emotional block that keeps us mired in its clutches. The subconscious mind is very powerful and can override conscious thoughts.

So, even though just the title of psychological acupressure can be intimidating, let me give you an introductory lesson on how you can clear these blocks on your own and move past some of these beliefs that are keeping you bogged down.

First of all, you need to do “the reversal.” This is … to reverse the energy system so that it is in line with what you want to do. Another word for it is “will power.” When you feel like you have no will power, it is usually your subconscious overpowering your conscious thoughts and a reversal is what can bring it in sync. It is very simple to do. You simply tap continuously at your karate chop and make the statement: “Even though I don’t want to get over this (whatever emotion you are feeling. i.e. fear, depression, sadness, etc.), I’m okay.” You only do this ONE time at your karate chop point, which is the edge of your hand that hits the board when doing a karate chop, and that is all you do. If you tell your body you do not want something, it reverses your energy so you do. Simplistic approach, but very effective.

So now that we are reversed and our energy is in sync, let’s take a moment to sit down and relax, and take a few minutes to assess where we are in our life and what emotions you are truly feeling. What sentences above triggered a response in us? What emotional traumas do we have? These are the things we need to release. We do this the same way we did the reversal, but with a different set-up statement. These set-up statements would be something like this: “Even though I have overwhelming sadness depressing my whole body, I deeply and completely accept myself,” or “Even though I have this memory of my husband dying during the Holidays three years ago and it feels me with so much sadness, I deeply and completely accept myself,” or “Even though I hate facing my family each year because it fills me with so much anger, I deeply and completely accept myself.” These are just examples of some of the ways to make these statements. You tap continuously while making these statements three times at your karate chop point. Then at each acupressure point, i.e., inner eyebrow, outer eyebrow, under eye, under nose, on chin, collarbone, and under the arm, make the negative part of the statement, i.e. “I am filled with sadness,” “I am so depressed over my husband’s death,” or “I hate being around my family.” Finish all of these statements by tapping continuously on the top of the head while making the statement, “I choose to release these past emotions.”

That is how we clear that limiting thought process. However, as you clear a sentence, pay attention to what you are thinking. If you are clearing the fact that you hate being around your family, and a memory pops into your brain, you need to clear that memory the same way you just cleared the belief. Your body is amazing at how it will bring up issues relating to what you are clearing, but you just need to listen and pay attention to what you are thinking.

So, you are now EMPOWERED with a tool that can change the Holidays forever. The positive energy you send out is what you draw to you. You can, however, choose to tap, or not to tap, but I have now given you the key. In the past two months, I have learned a new process on releasing the darkness in the mind and in the body. It also involves doing some therapy with the right and left brain, and clearing out memories there. However, in the process of doing this, I have found that in clearing this out the subconscious mind becomes amazingly reversed. All of you who have been clients know I struggle with this on an ongoing basis. I have had each of you doing reversals over and over and over and over…..until you are sick of them. LOL Now, with this new technique, you stay reversed in almost everything on a constant basis and it allows your body to heal on its own. We still go in and clear out emotions surrounding organs, etc., but no reversals are needed, you consciously and subconsciously want this to occur. It has been absolutely AMAZING!

Anyway, I would love all of you to be able to experience this for yourselves and for those of my clients who have already done this, I am offering this special to you, too. This technique can be done over the phone, just as much as in person, so anyone inside Utah or not can take advantage of this.

This technique takes about 30-45 minutes and usually a session for 40 minutes is $50.00, and an hour $75.00. So, I am offering a 40 minute session for each person who would like to do this (client or otherwise) for the next two weeks only, until the end of October, at half price and have a 40 minute sessino for $25.00. If you add the next 20 minutes on and want a full hour session, I will offer that at an extra $10.00 equally $35.00 for the session. This is the lowest price for a session I have had since beginning my practice. Each person may only purchase a one-hour session for that price. If you have done this procedure with me already, then you may use that hour for whatever you like. If you have not, I will do this technique on you first and then any additional time can be spent healing other areas of your body or mind.

So, if you wish to take advantage of this special, email me at mycoach4u@theclearingcure.com or call me at 801-967-5113 and we will schedule you in. This has been so amazing for so many of my clients, I cannot stress how important I feel this is for all of you to experience! Just make sure you do this before the end of the month, even if we have to schedule this in after October, you must CALL me during October to get the special price.

I hope all of you are doing wonderful!

Hugs to all,
Karen

Emotions and Diabetes

Ways to Tap In Help
The Clearing Cure

To most people, emotions and diabetes are two things that are not usually associated with each other. Whether you have juvenile diabetes, adult onset diabetes, type I diabetes, or type II diabetes, emotions or trauma questions do not usually come up when visiting with a doctor. The methods of choice for “maintaining” this disease are drugs and a few diet modifications.

One of the biggest mistakes that I believe doctors make in relation to diabetes is their failure to emphasize strongly enough the “diet” part. Type II diabetes is one that can be totally corrected with a good diabetic diet and proper exercise. However, this can still be an ongoing problem with people, as getting rid of sugar, most grains, and processed foods from your diet is a very difficult thing to do, although many have done this and reaped the rewards of reversing their diabetes entirely. Diet can even control gestational diabetes in pregnant mothers, if you can get past the food cravings and morning sickness.

There is also a study out that has shown black tea to be of help for diabetics. The polysaccharides in black tea and some green teas have been shown to benefit people because they help retard the absorption of glucose.

I could go on and on about studies being done to help those with diabetes. I could even get more into the “why” or “how” you get this disease, but, for this article, we are going to concentrate on the relationship of emotions to diabetes.

So, what do emotions have to do with diabetes?

Whenever you experience a trauma, or an emotionally charged event, those emotions attached themselves to some part of your body—and usually at its weakest point. If diabetes runs in your family, then a trauma or emotionally charged event could trigger the diabetes. If your kidneys are “weak,” those emotions will attach themselves to that area, suppressing the kidneys ability to function at full capacity. If the emotion is triggered again and again over the years, it will continue to affect the function of the kidneys, which will then lead, at some point, to the diagnosis of diabetes.

There are also emotions that seem to be drawn more to the kidneys than other parts of the body. In fact, there are several books on the market that point out what these emotions are. My personal favorite is Karol Truman’s book, Feelings Buried Alive Never Die. In this book, she carefully documents the emotions she has found to be prevalent in the kidneys. These emotions are ones of judging yourself or others severely; being disappointed in life; having ongoing feelings of sorrow; dealing with emotional shock; feeling a complete lack of joy in your life; believing that life should have been different; being obsessed with wanting to control everyone and everything; and being ashamed of something you did in the past.

So, having documented all of these emotions, does that mean someone with diabetes has all of these? No. Each person is different. One person may react to some of the emotions stated above and find that it really fits them; another person may respond completely differently. However, in my research, I have found that diabetics do react to at least one or two of these emotions and thus have that emotion buried quite deep inside, repressing it into the kidneys, which then suppresses its functioning capabilities.

With that being said, how do you fix the problem? How do you free the kidneys from the suppressed emotions?

One way is with psychological acupressure. This is an extremely effective tool for clearing out emotional baggage attached to specific organs. This is a tool that can also correct other things in relation to the diabetes, not just the emotions suppressing the kidneys. Diabetes is not just a problem of sugars. It is also a problem of how your leptin and insulin signal each other. Psychological acupressure can also be used in this area—to ask your body to correct this problem. You can also correct allergies with this process. Most diabetics are allergic to their own insulin and leptin, thus clearing this allergy can allow your body to regulate them more effectively.

Let’s take just one example of how to tap out these emotions from your kidneys. Take the emotion of being ashamed of something you did in the past. You would first start with the reversal to make sure your subconscious is okay with your releasing it from your body. To do this, you simply apply a little bit of reverse psychology, hence the term “reversal.” You take the karate chop area on your body (the side of your hand that connects with the board when doing a karate chop) and using two fingers of your opposite hand you tap continuously on this point while making a statement. This statement consists of an “even though I don’t want to do this” part, and an “I’m okay” part. You state, “Even though I don’t want to give up being ashamed for all these things in my past, I’m okay.” That’s it. Just one time and you are reversed.

This actually must be done prior to clearing any memories or emotions, as the subconscious will not allow you to release it if it feels you are not safe or protected. Telling your subconscious that you don’t want to give this up, but that you are okay even if you do, is the reverse psychology statement and allows the subconscious to be okay with your releasing this energy.

When a person tells me that he/she has no will power, or just can’t find the desire to motivate himself/herself to do something, it tells me that he/she is working against his/her subconscious and needs to reverse it in order to have that power to do what he/she needs to do. If you think about the subconscious as a mega computer that processes everything, and your conscious state is a small desk model, then you can see how trying to overpower that mega computer could be a hard thing to do. A reversal simply makes sure that both the conscious and subconscious minds are in sync.

After doing the reversal, you are now ready to clear out the emotion. This is the same kind of setup, but you make the statement without using the word “don’t” in there, as you have already reversed it. The statement would consist of something like this, “Even though I am so ashamed of things I have done in my past, and this is living in my kidneys, causing it to not function properly, I deeply and completely accept myself.” This time, however, you are going to make that statement three times while continuously tapping on your karate chop point.

Then, you continue this process by going through the EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) set up by taking two fingers and tapping on the inside corner of your eye and making the statement, “I am ashamed of all of the things from my past.” You then continue making this same statement at each of the points, i.e., outside corner of the eyebrow, under the eye, under the nose, on the chin, on the collarbone point, and, finally, under the arm. You then tap on the crown of your head and make a positive statement such as "I choose to let this feeling release from my body.”

As you do this, really listen to your mind and write down any memories that might come up of your being ashamed of something you did. Then, using this same technique, clear out each of these memories from your kidneys. As you release these emotions, it allows your kidneys to begin to function properly again, thus enabling your body to handle sugars more effectively.

So, you are now EMPOWERED with a tool that can change your life. The positive energy you send out is what you draw to you. You can, however, choose to tap, or not to tap, but I have now given you the key. The next step is yours.

The Motivation Mind Game

Ways to Tap In Help
The Clearing Cure

Do you ever FEEL like it is an uphill battle just to get your butt out of bed and out the door in the morning? Does the word “workout” bring on a feeling of dread and emotional trauma? Do you ever feel like you have no energy—and it’s only noon? Do you feel POWERLESS in your life on how to affect a change? If so, how many times have you heard this same description used for various classes or workshops you have taken and books you have bought on how to get energy and motivation back into your life? And despite these resources, how many times have you slipped back into those former, non-productive patterns of thinking?

So, how do you TAKE BACK THAT POWER and face your life with enthusiasm and zeal? There are many classes and books out there today advertising a plethora of ways to do just that. For example, the “7 Secrets to Maintaining your Motivation” talks about focus, belief, habits, emotional reactions, energy, your surroundings, and time management. These are great tools at helping you identify the problems. In fact, there are many excellent books and workshops out there that do a great job of giving you the tools you need to identify the problems. However, once you identify these problems and do all that is necessary to learn what tools are available to help you overcome these problems, the problem is the problems are still there! You still need to learn how to overcome your problems.

It is now an undisputed fact that our “emotional” state creates a significant impact on our mind and body. The stress we create in our day-to-day lives is massive and very comparable to how our ancestors would handle stress. If a bear came at them, their amygdala would take control, pumping blood to the arms and legs, raising their blood pressure and heart rate, preparing them to run away or to fight. It’s called the “fight or flight” response. However, the stress that we create in our lives today is not just a one-time bear attack; it is an ongoing realistic part of almost every day. We are at a heightened emotional stress level on a daily basis, which is very bad for the body, and creates all sorts of very real physical and emotional problems.

In a heightened, emotionally stressed state, energy and motivation go out the window, along with the ability to process food normally, effectively burn calories, lose weight, and build muscle. Your cholesterol and triglycerides go up, blood pressure increases, and your stomach flora decreases, which then creates allergies, gastroesophageal reflux, heartburn, high blood pressure, etc. Along with all of this, your cortisol and insulin levels increase, leaving you prone to even more things, such as diabetes, metabolic syndrome, heart problems, and central obesity. Stress is BAD every way you look at it. But stress is especially BAD with regards to your energy level, ability to function in a motivated state, or even have the physical ability to do so. No wonder motivation is such a hard state to maintain.

Stress is definitely one key component, but there are also other problems that keep you stuck on the couch. How about that memory from your youth where you were told you were a good-for- nothing-person, or the memory of being told how lazy you were and that you would never amount to anything? Memories such as these are key components as well, and lead to thought processes that you subconsciously fight all the time, such as, “I’m not good enough to do this”, or “Nothing I do is going to be good enough.” This most often ends up being a battle of the will and the subconscious usually wins. All of these components, combined with the physical problems/disease associated with the emotional state we are in, leads to a serious lack of motivation to do just about anything, except just exist day-to-day, never realizing those dreams we had or progressing forward in our lives.

So my thought is “why not just release the problems as we identify them?” I know, it is kind of a revolutionary approach. Clear away the brush so that the path STAYS clear! But that is, simply put, the power of psychological acupressure.

The first thing to do is to use the psychological acupressure to bring your subconscious energy in line with what you truly want to do. This is called a “reversal.” To do this, you take the part of your body known as the karate chop point (the part of the side of your hand that hits the board when doing a karate chop) and make a statement like, “Even though I don’t want to calm the stress center of my brain, I’m okay,” and “Even though I don’t want to get over these issues and memories dealing with motivation, I’m okay.” This will reverse your energy in your subconscious and allow it to be in sync with your mind on what you want to do.

The next step is to tap out the stress response in your amygdala and calm it down. Your amygdala is the part of the brain that is responsible for the “fight or flight” response. To do this, you need to tap this statement three times at the karate chop point: “Even though my amygdala is hyperactive causing a low-level stress response in my body, I choose to be calm and centered.” Then tap the area known as the 9-gamut point on the back of your hand, about a half inch behind the middle point between your ring finger and little finger knuckle. This point ties in right to your brain, as the optic nerve is directly linked to parts of the brain, so you do specific eye motions as you tap this area in order to direct your energy to that specific area of the brain. At this point, i.e., the 9-gamut point, tap as you make the statement: “My amygdala is hyperactive and causing a stress response in my body.” Then do your eye motions as you keep tapping that point. These are: Look up, look down, close your eyes, open your eyes, look down hard to the right, look down hard to the left, roll your eyes one way, then back the other, and then sing a few bars to any song (right brain), then count from 1-5 (left brain). Tap on top of your head and make the statement, “I choose to be calm and centered.”

After calming down the amygdala, it should calm down the low-level stress response and put you back into a non-stress level state. However, stress has a way of coming at you again and again all day long. Clearing past trauma associated with the amygdala is important, but until you can do it with a certified professional, just keep clearing your amygdala three or four times a day for awhile to keep you in a good calm and centered state.

After calming down the brain center, you now need to keep on working at ridding yourself of those past memories and thought processes you say to yourself, ones that keep you on that couch and not doing what you want to do in your life. Ways to tap out these events/emotions would be to just take a moment when you feel particularly unmotivated and try to evaluate why. If a memory or thought process comes up, try tapping the emotion/thought out exactly as you think it. This would start at the karate chop point again and the sentence to do this would be something like, “Even though I feel so incompetent and don’t believe in my own abilities to do this, I deeply and completely accept myself.” Then tap at these points: inner eye, outer eye, under the eye, under the nose, on the chin, on the collarbone, and under your arm, making negative statements like, “I am so incompetent,” or “I am not able to do this on my own,” etc. Do the same thing with traumas that you can remember, where you feel those same emotions.

When you clear out these emotions and thought processes, and your body is out of its stress response, you feel emotionally clear and free, fully capable to do what you need to do. Try this technique in relation to any of the problems you have identified in past workshops and clear out the beliefs that keep you stuck from doing them. Instead of working against your subconscious, bring your energy in sync with it and clear the path to an extraordinary life.

So, you are now EMPOWERED. You can choose to tap, or not to tap, but I have now given you the key. The next step is yours.

HELP! I'm Allergic to Money

Ways to Tap In Help
The Clearing Cure

Money! To most people, this is a dirty word. To your body, it’s considered an allergy. So, how do YOU feel about Money? When you see someone who obviously has money, what do you think? What we feel and think about has a direct result on how we receive and keep money. If money is a dirty word to you, bringing up connotations of evil people doing bad things, then energetically you will push money away because your subconscious believes it is evil!

You can get a wide range of responses when you ask a group of people what their feelings are about money. Some even have a hard time voicing the word, as “money” carries with it an evil connotation. Spiritual beliefs come into play as well. Most religions teach that money corrupts people, so the belief that the money is evil is prevalent, and that money will corrupt even the most noble. Therein is the belief that you can’t have it all. You cannot be happy and rich at the same time.

Even in our culture, in movies, and on TV, we see rich people doing strange things. Not always utilizing their money for good, acting selfish and amoral. We often find ourselves in groups scoffing at the rich and consciously and subconsciously rooting for their downfall. We often feel they are just “lucky.” That they did not work for it, that it was just given to them. Thus, we tend to feel that money is not fair, that either you are just “lucky” or you have to work really hard for it, often putting in an enormous number of hours at work trying to get ahead. The thought that you don’t deserve to have money is often the result of such thoughts.

Safety issues also come into play when you think about being able to make money. Others, even family members, tend to shun those who are able to make money and keep it, often judging them harshly. We all try to stay away from things that we know others will judge us harshly on, so our mental safety is in jeopardy if we make a large amount of money; thus, subconsciously, we push it away. Safety also comes into play when thinking about taxes. If you make too much, you will be in a higher tax bracket, so some will not make a good income just to “stick it” to the IRS and show them who really is boss.

This emotional state creates quite a quandary for us when we are trying to make a good living. We tend to create what is called a “set point” with regard to our wealth. We determine in our subconscious what amount we can make and feel comfortable doing so, all the while bringing up the emotions that we aren’t good enough to have a lot of money, or we’re an evil person if we make too much money and will be judged as such. That amount we create in our minds is the amount we usually are making at this point in our life, and it is either not enough or, it may be enough, but we just can’t seem to keep our hands on it; we seem to go through what we make very fast. Why? Because we believe we don’t deserve it, so we get rid of it before anyone notices.

The emotions listed above are what we call “limiting beliefs.” These are beliefs that keep us stuck in a cycle, never really making progress. Most of these thought processes or beliefs are ones that lie deep in our subconscious, only rearing their ugly head when we attempt to move past them. They are very powerful beliefs, but not necessarily ones that you would consciously think of when trying to get a better job or to make more money. The best way to flesh out what you truly feel about money is to stop for a minute and look over the emotions listed above. Do any of them trigger a response? When you sit down and think about your debt and the money you make, what emotions come to the surface? Do you feel like it will never be enough? Do you deserve to make enough? Does the thought come up that if you could just make enough to cover the bills you would be happy? Do you have a hard time even envisioning what that would be like?

If some of these questions trigger a response and you would like to get past that, then let me introduce you to the new world of “psychological acupressure.” Acupressure itself is known worldwide for targeting blocks in our energy system and clearing that point, thus enabling the energy to flow freely and allowing our body to heal itself. Psychological acupressure is the same concept, only it begins with the belief that emotions have an energetic charge and get stuck somewhere in our body. In fact, the belief that emotions cause disease is not a new one. The studies done in relation to stress are overpowering in their outcome.

First of all, we need to clear the allergy that your body carries to money. Money is naturally full of germs. It just passes through too many hands not to pick up something that your body would like to reject. So, find a dollar bill and hold it in your hand. To clear this, we are going to make what is called a set-up statement. This is done at what is called the “circuit board” to your body, or the karate chop point. You take two fingers from your opposite hand and continuously tap on the karate chop area of your hand (the part of the hand that hits the board in a karate chop, on the side where the pinky finger is) and make a statement. This set-up statement is in two parts and can be very simple. You state: “Even though my body is rejecting this money and has developed an allergy to it, I deeply and completely accept myself.” You must always have the negative statement coupled with the positive statement. When you tell your body you are having a problem in an area, you then need to give it a positive thought that alludes to the fact that you are okay with yourself, even though you have this particular problem. This approach enables the body to release the problem, knowing you will be okay without it. The body is just trying to protect you and has an amazing capacity to do that very efficiently.

After making that statement three times while tapping continuously on this karate chop area, you then move up to the actual acupressure points that will clear this allergy. You start on (1) the inside corner of your eyebrow. You take two fingers and continuously tap on this area while making the negative statement, “My body is allergic to this money.” At each point you make that same statement, as you clear blocks in your energy system, by stating the negative. After the inside corner of the eyebrow, you go to (2) the outside corner of the eyebrow and make the same statement. You then proceed to (3) under the eye on your cheekbone, (4) under your nose, (5) on your chin, (6) on your collarbone point (the area that juts out where the neck and upper chest meet), and (7) under your arm (the area where a ladies bra would be). At each of these points you are making that negative statement. At the end, tap on the very top of your head, on the crown, and make a positive statement, saying, “I choose to release this allergy.” This is all it takes. It’s a very simple process, but a very effective one.

The next step would be “the reversal.” This is … to reverse the energy system so that it is in line with what you want to do. Another word for it is “will power.” When you feel like you have no will power, it is usually your subconscious overpowering your conscious thoughts and a reversal is what can bring it in sync. It is very simple to do. You simply tap continuously at your karate chop and make the statement: “Even though I don’t deserve to make good money, I’m okay,” or “Even though I don’t feel safe with that kind of money, I’m okay.” It is a statement that says, even though I don’t want _____ (wealth, abundance, safety, etc), I’m okay. You only do this ONE time at your karate chop point, not three, and that is all you do. If you tell your body you do not want something, it reverses your energy so you do. Simplistic approach, but very effective.

So now that we have our allergy gone, and our energy is in sync, let’s take a moment to sit down and relax, and take a few minutes to assess where we are in our life and what our true feelings are about money. What sentences above triggered a response in us? Do we have a memory of a parent or teacher giving us some advice about money and its evils? If so, these are the things we need to release. We do this the same way we cleared the allergy, but with a different set-up statement. These set-up statements would be something like this: “Even though I feel money is evil, I deeply and completely accept myself,” or “Even though I have this memory of my dad telling me that rich people make their money off the backs of the poor, I deeply and completely accept myself,” or “Even though I will be judged if I make a lot of money, I deeply and completely accept myself.” These are just examples of some of the ways to make these statements. Then at each point listed above, i.e., inner eyebrow, outer eyebrow, under eye, under nose, on chin, collarbone, and under the arm, make the negative part of the statement, i.e. “money is evil,” “I will be judged if I make a lot of money,” or “I have this memory from my dad making me believe that rich people are evil.”
Finish all of these statements by tapping continuously on the top of the head while making the statement, “I choose to release these past emotions regarding money.”

That is how we clear that limiting thought process. However, as you clear a sentence, pay attention to what you are thinking. If you are clearing the fact that you believe money is evil, and a memory of someone telling you that pops into your brain, you need to clear that memory the same way you just cleared the belief. Your body is amazing at how it will bring up issues relating to what you are clearing, but you just need to listen and pay attention to what you are thinking.

So, you are now EMPOWERED with a tool that can change your financial life. The positive energy you send out is what you draw to you. You can, however, choose to tap, or not to tap, but I have now given you the key. The next step is yours.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://the-clearing-cure.blogspot.com/2009/10/help-im-allergic-to-money.html' title='HELP! Is the only thing that interests you is watching TV, even if you feel like nothing is really on that interests you? If so, then motivation is a key issue here, but not just the motivation, even the desire to get the motivation is gone. This is usually indicative of your energy being massively reversed. So before you really get down and start tapping, let’s do a few reversals. At your karate chop point, tap out the following reversals: “Even though I don’t want any energy, I’m okay,” “Even though I don’t want to feel motivated, I’m okay,” “Even though I don’t want to be happy and excited, I’m okay,” “Even though I don’t want to do anything, I’m okay.” All of the statements should be about things you don’t want to do and only have to be tapped one time on the karate chop point. This will reverse your energy so that you are not “working against” your subconscious, which is the same thing as saying “you have no will power.”

Now that you are reversed, why you do not feel the motivation is a good place to begin tapping. You can start with how it feels to you. If the feeling is like a heavy weight, then let’s start with that. Tap on your karate chop point and structure the sentence like, “Even though I feel this heavy weight anchoring me to the couch, I deeply and completely accept myself.” Then you would take each point, i.e. inner eye, outer eye, under eye, under nose, on chin, collarbone, under arm, and add the 9-gamut point, as this is the tie in to your brain, and tap out negative statements like, “I feel anchored to the couch,” or “I feel too heavy inside to move,” and end on top of the head with, “I feel energy lightening my load.”

The 9-gamut point is an important point when it comes to motivational issues, as the brain plays a huge part in your ability to get motivated. Your anterior cingulate is the center of your brain that deals with fears and your desire to progress past those fears. Your prefrontal cortex is the center of your brain responsible for procrastination as well. So, just with these two centers, it is important to address issues that may tie into that area and doing the 9-gamut point will accomplish that, as the optic nerve is a direct connection to the brain and when you move your eyes, the brain is stimulated. You do this by tapping on the back of the hand, one-half inch behind the midpoint between the knuckle of the ring and the little finger. Then as you tap on that point, you make your negative statement, such as one of the ones listed above, and then do the eye movements, i.e. look up, look down, close your eyes, open your eyes, look down hard to the right, then down hard to the left, roll your eyes one way, roll them back the other way, hum a tune to Happy Birthday to you (right brain), then count one through five very fast (left brain), and then hum again. This will stimulate the brain to release that negative feeling from the area where it is trapped.

Now that you are hopefully feeling a little lighter, the next step is to take the time to think about why you are on the couch. What stressors during the day are predominant in your mind? Take each one of the memories that pop into your mind and tap each one of them out, as above, with the 9-gamut as part of the process. As each one is cleared, you should be feeling more energy coming into your body.

As you feel energy and more motivation, and after you have tapped out all of the stressors of the day, do some chakra tapping and tap in some motivational thoughts. The best way to remember chakra points is to just tap down the center of the body, i.e., the top of your head, middle of the eyebrows, under the nose, on the chin, the five-finger circle tap on the sternum, the five-finger circle tap around the belly button, and then inside of the knees. Tap in anything positive and energetic that you can think of, but when creating statements, think of ways to make them sound exciting. The sentence, “I feel energy,” is completely different than, “I feel energy pulsating through my body.” How you state them is also important. Become a great actor/actress. Become animated with each statement, convincing your body that you are actually feeling that way. It works like a charm.

Now, let’s address how not to get into that situation in the first place. In researching tips on how to keep you motivated, and beat the coach potato syndrome, I thought the following five were the best. So, as we go through each one, we will give you ideas on how to tap it out so that it is more effective.

1. Become organized and plan ahead. Start the day with your positive affirmations. Do them as energetically as you can, as mentioned above. Since you never know what will happen, take the time to think through options of how you will handle problems. Do reversals when you find yourself slipping into the feeling that you are working against yourself, having no will power.
2. Get something done prior to checking e-mail or getting on social networking sites. If you find you are spending too much time on the social sites, do a reversal like, “Even though I don’t want to stop wasting so much time on this site, I’m okay.” Set a timer and time yourself. Time goes by fast and oftentimes we spend much more time that we think on the Internet. If you are spending too much time there, try to figure out the real reason why. What are you trying to avoid by being on there? After you do some soul searching, take time to tap out each of those reasons, as dictated above.
3. Minimize your distractions. Turn off the TV. Try to create a productive environment. When you find that you are being distracted, take a few minutes and tap out why.
4. If you are being distracted by a pressing problem, or the need to just get away, go ahead and take that walk, or take care of whatever you need to, and then get back to being productive. This would be a good time to tap on your ability to concentrate. Why are you not concentrating? Are there problems in your life that keep coming into your mind? If so, take each one of them and tap them out.
5. Give yourself a reward for getting your tasks accomplished. Build them into your day. Make sure the reward is not food. Reward yourself with activities, or time with people. Something that gives you a feeling of satisfaction.

Just remember that if you feel like you are powering down during the day, start by doing some reversals. This will bring your energy back in line with what you would like to do. If you are still struggling, find out the real reason by doing a little soul searching. What is it that is really bugging you? A fight with your spouse, or child, or not feeling satisfied in your job could be the real reason you are distracted and find your motivation slipping away. Anger is a powerful and very draining emotion. Make sure to tap it out immediately before it zaps your energy.

So, you are now EMPOWERED. You can choose to tap, or not to tap, but I have now given you the key. The next step is yours.

The Dreaded Kidney Stone

Ways to Tap In Help
The Clearing Cure

Ah, the dreaded kidney stones. The list of myths surrounding this condition is immense. Does diet and region you live in factor in to whether or not you will get them? How about genetics? What about our consumption of carbonated drinks? What, if anything, can you do about it?

Most everyone knows the pain associated with this condition. It can be excruciating and much like childbirth, at least I am told, as I have not had this condition as of yet. However, my mother has suffered from them before, and my sister has on multiple occasions. So, I have always wondered if that increased my chances of getting them.

According to Dr. Mercola, in his article Who Knew Preventing Kidney Stones Was this Easy, roughly 1 million Americans develop kidney stones each year and if you get them once, your chance of recurrence goes up about 70-80 percent. Genetics do increase your risk, but so does the fact that you are a man. Men have a risk four times greater than women. The region you live in also plays a part in your risk factor. The southeastern part of the United States is referred to as the “Kidney Stone Belt.” The Middle East is also a region where the risk is nearly double what they are in the United States, mainly due to the warmer climate, which indicates that chronic dehydration can also predispose you to kidney stones. The worst part is the rate of kidney stone occurrences are on the rise, even in children.

The way your body absorbs and eliminates calcium seem to be the main culprit on why individuals form these stones. Sometimes an underlying cause can be a metabolic disorder or kidney disease. However, the reason your kidneys have problems absorbing and eliminating calcium is due to a hyper acidic or hyper alkaline state, which is due to a large part by your diet. Other factors can be certain drugs that promote kidneys stones, as well as our environment.

Risk factors that I have researched that contribute to kidney stones include not drinking enough water, mainly because you just have higher concentrations of substances in your kidneys that can form stones, a sedentary lifestyle, high blood pressure, digestive problems that affect your absorption of calcium and other minerals, a diet high in sugar and high fructose corn syrup, drinking soda (for many reasons), diets high in processed salt, too much soy in your diet, and caffeine. That encompasses quite a few individuals who have high risk factors for this condition.

So, what can be done about all of this before you get them? According to research, it is the same thing that you should do to avoid almost any kind of disease. You stay hydrated, eat a balanced diet, avoid taking prescription drugs when you can, avoid sugar, soy, caffeine, excess salt, and processed foods, get plenty of exercise, and make sure you have adequate magnesium and vitamin B6 in your diet, which both have shown promise in helping prevent kidney stone formation. A cinch, right?

Well, since we all know that is not as easy as it sounds, lets go through a few preventative things to do with respect to tapping that can help.

Emotions are huge factors in how our kidneys function. The emotions that usually attach themselves to the kidneys and formation of stones in particular are hardening anger that we stuff down and don’t let out in healthy ways, relationship problems between you and other people, and trying to control your life, but being unable to do so. That loss of power, coupled with the other two issues, gives your body the okay to form these stones, especially if the environment is primed for them.

Making sure you are not stuffing those emotions into your body is a top priority, as this could cause a lot of problems, not just kidney stones. One way to tap these out would be to just directly ask the body to clear out the hardened anger from your kidneys. You could structure your sentence by stating, “Even though I have this hardened anger suppressed into my kidneys, I deeply and completely accept myself.” This statement would be stated three times at the karate chop point and then at each point, i.e. inner eye, outer eye, under eye, under nose, on chin, collarbone, and under arm (don’t miss this point, as it is your kidney point), make a negative statement like, “I have hardened anger in my kidneys,” or “I am suppressing my anger into my kidneys.” Then on top of your head state, “I choose to release the suppressed anger from my kidneys.” You could then proceed to do the same thing with statements directed at your relationship problems, and taking back control of your life. Just make sure all statements you do are directed at the kidneys.

Other ways of tapping out problems, would be to tap on different aspects of your risk factors and their relation to the function of the kidneys. Some of the things you could tap out are your ability to absorb calcium or minerals correctly, and on how the kidney functions as a whole. Your kidneys are major players in high blood pressure, which is a risk factor, so after doing the above statements with regards to the emotional components (and hopefully you will clear out original traumas doing that), try tapping on statements like, “Even though my kidneys are not functioning properly and not secreting enough rennin to control my blood pressure, I deeply and completely accept myself,” or “Even though my kidneys are not regulating the acidity of my body fluids correctly, I deeply and completely accept myself.” Keep your negative statements at each of the above stated points very simple, i.e. “My kidneys are not regulating the acidity in my body,” or “My kidneys are not secreting enough rennin.” Always finish it off with the top of the head and make a positive statement like, “I choose to have my body correct this.”

Some other things that will help with clearing kidney stones and making sure your kidneys are functioning properly is to periodically do a cleanse with black cherry juice, not cranberry juice, as black cherry is better for the kidneys. You can find this in concentrated forms in your health food stores or on line. Just make sure there is no sugar in it. For stones in particular, if you get them, you can use four (4) cans of Classic Coke to be taken within a two-hour period, and this will go in and dissolve them. The epiphany was this: “There is a direct correlation between weight loss and your stress level!” I actually always knew this in a way, but really did not understand the full impact of stress on our bodies until I started to research it.

The dictionary definition of stress is “any real or imagined threat, and your body’s response to it.” This can be a good thing, as well as a negative thing. Stress is not entirely negative. Some stress can be avoided and other stress cannot, and some stress can even be beneficial, but it becomes a problem when the stress starts impacting your body in a bad way.

When you have an understanding of psychological acupressure, you know that emotions impact the body in every way possible. Emotions can actually create physiological changes. These changes include your skin, heart rate, digestion, joints, muscles, hair, systems, organs, and even your brain.

Stress is one of these emotions that can cause harmful side effects and when we eat in a state of stress or anxiety, which is pretty much all the time for most people, there are particularly bad side effects. The best way to explain this is to outline what happens when you are stressed. Our bodies are made to react to a stress emotion by getting ready to flee or to fight. It’s called the “fight or flight” response. It increases your blood pressure, heart rate, and increases the blood into your arms and legs in order to get ready to flee. With regards to weight loss, however, this response is not helpful because it shunts blood away from your midsection and virtually shuts down your digestive system.

When you eat under stress, even if you are eating the healthiest food in the world, you will not be able to fully digest and absorb the food and nutrients from that food and your body will not be able to burn calories effectively. Since all that blood and oxygen are being used elsewhere, your metabolism also suffers, plus you will see a decrease in the enzymes in your stomach. Your cholesterol and triglycerides then go up because of the decreasing stomach flora, which then leads you to be more sensitive to food, which then, in turn, creates allergies, gastroesophageal reflux, and heartburn.

If that isn’t bad enough, the most important factor, when your body creates this stress response, is that your cortisol and insulin levels rise. These are two very important hormones! When your cortisol is consistently elevated, as it is when we are in a state of low-level stress response, you have difficulty losing weight or building muscle. Cortisol is also responsible for gaining weight around your midsection. This is the type of fat that builds up around your internal organs known as visceral fat. Visceral fat is a major contributing factor to developing diabetes and having metabolic syndrome.

Metabolic syndrome is a particularly negative thing with regards to weight loss. It is closely associated with insulin resistance where the body cannot use insulin effectively. This syndrome also leads to high cholesterol, which can then lead to all sorts of heart problems, raised blood pressure, central obesity, and a proinflammatory state. It definitely is not up there on your list of diseases you want to have.

Having stress is bad in so many ways. But what, if anything, can we do about it, especially with regards to losing weight? It’s not like you can eliminate stress entirely from your life. However, there are ways to minimize and reduce stress in our bodies, especially with regards to psychological acupressure.

Some of the emotions that accompany stress and weight loss are craving closeness, feelings of insecurity, self-rejection, and your body’s need to protect you. Traumas that you stuff inside are kept in your fat and when you have feelings that are unfulfilled, that is stuffed inside as well. These are all emotions that need to be released from your weight and the traumas surrounding them. We also sometimes use food to substitute for affection, and when we are feeling the loss of that affection, that stresses the body, creating a cyclical process that keeps you holding on to that stress and that fat.

Ways to tap out these events/emotions would be to just take a moment before you eat and try to evaluate whether you are truly hungry, stressed, or emotionally needy. If it is stress or emotions that you sense more than hunger, try tapping the emotion/stress out first then reassess to see if you are truly hungry. A sentence to do this would be something like, “Even though I feel so alone, and I am using food to substitute for the need to have someone holding me, I deeply and completely accept myself.” Then tap at each point, i.e., inner eye, outer eye, under eye, under nose, on chin, collarbone, and under your arm, making negative statements like, “I am so alone,” or “I am eating to substitute for love,” etc. Do the same thing with traumas that you can remember where you felt those same emotions.

One other thing to do is to tap in order to calm the stress response in your amygdala. Your amygdala is the part of the brain that is responsible for the “fight or flight” response. Tap this statement three times at your karate chop point: “Even though my amygdala is hyperactive causing a low-level stress response in my body, I choose to be calm and centered.” Then, instead of tapping the usual points, just go straight to your 9-gamut point on the back of your hand, about a half inch behind the middle point between your ring finger and little finger knuckle. Tap that point and state: “My amygdala is hyperactive and causing a stress response in my body.” Then do your eye motions, which tie in the parts of your brain with the emotion you are trying to clear.

After calming down the amygdala, it should calm down the low-level stress response and put you back into a good metabolic and digestive state. However, stress has a way of coming at you again and again all day long. Clearing past trauma associated with the amygala is important, but until you can do that, just keep clearing your amygdala three or four times a day for awhile to keep you in a good calm and centered state. That should aid your metabolism in getting back to normal and what you eat can now be digested at optimum levels.

So, you are now EMPOWERED. You can choose to tap, or not to tap, but I have now given you the key. The next step is yours.

My New Places of Work

So, I’m finally I my new offices. They are great! Today, I am blogging about them and what they have to offer. It has been very important for me to make sure I align myself with people who are of like mind. Those who believe in healing the whole person, not just one part of the person. In this respect, you get the whole package, emotional clearing and feeling good in the process.

So, here is a synopsis of both places I will be working from. I will be at Abundant Health Chiropractic and Massage on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 to 4, and at A New You on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12 (noon) to 7.

A New You, 1222 West 12600 South, #303, Riverton, UT 801-302-3800.

They have a very neat machine called a TurboSonic that helps you with stimulating your lymphatic system, nervous system, etc. The first two sessions are free (10 minutes each) and then it is only $5.00 from there on. I have found this to be a great way to get your body systems stimulated and working properly, especially as we release emotions surrounding the organs and systems, thus allowing them to be working in optimum health.

Another great thing they have are therapy machines for those who have a problem with movement, such as stroke victims, or people with fibromyalgia. You are strapped onto a machine and the machine actually does the work for you. They also have a set up of machines a little bit like the Curves circle that you go from machine to machine and do a workout.

They also have machine therapists who work with energy systems, back and neck massages, Quantum touch, among others. They have nutrition products, the It Work Wraps, and a great line of hair products.

Really, it is just a portion of what they offer there and I have been so pleased with all of the wonderful things they have to offer my clients.

Abundant Health Chiropractic and Massage. 4887 South Highland Drive, Suite 100. (801) 274-2881.

This is located right next to Albertsons on the corner of 4700 and Highland. There are two buildings that are identical, this one is the southern one.

Laurie Patterson, DC, is the chiropractor and health and personal wellness coach. She uses many modalities to treat her clients, but all is done with the thought of working with the body in a gentle manner, no hard manipulations. I will be posting her bio on my website soon.

Shirlene Davis, LMT, NCTMB, is a massage therapist there. She does a wonderful deep massage and will use hot rocks as well. Her bio will be posted soon on my website as well.

James Stevenson, LMT, NCTMB, Myotherapist:

Clinical Massage Therapist and Stress Reduction Coach with an proven
expertise eliminating pain at it's source and in accelerated healing
from injury, surgery and disease. James provides coaching services to
alleviate major stressors from life, which are often the root cause of
painful conditions. All his methods are natural and drug free. There are some married people who are jealous of it. Teenagers idolize it. And most single people hate it. So, what is it about single life that is so intriguing to some and so miserable to others? You find dating sites galore hocking their unique way of setting up individuals and where to meet single men or women--Christian singles, professional singles, “hot” singles; you name it, it’s out there. Plus, every topic on singles has been hashed and rehashed so many times that you’re probably thinking by now that this is just one more of those “how to” articles and just one more thing that will tell you something that you just don’t want to hear any more.

In my arena, that of energy work, I have discovered firsthand the overwhelming fear that surrounds the single life. It envelops most singles: fear of dating; fear of meeting someone like their ex; fear of not being attractive to someone; fear of another failed relationship; fear of not attracting the right kind of man/woman; fear of not being confident enough; fear of rejection; fear of never finding someone; fear that you don’t deserve to find love. It’s never ending. These fears are brought up from past relationships, past trauma, memories of past relationships, or even memories of what you watched in a relationship such as that of your mother and father. We sometimes call this “baggage” in a relationship—past things that keep triggering us to behave in a certain way. It’s a learned behavior. However, if we envelope ourselves in this fear, we will draw to us exactly what we fear.

One thing that creates this fear inside is low self-esteem. When you have so many relationships go bad, or never even have had a relationship, then automatically the subconscious comes into play and the thought gets stuck in there that “you” are the reason. The thought is that if I were prettier, more bubbly or engaging, then I would have been able to find someone (or kept someone), and since that isn’t the case, something MUST be wrong with me.

Another aspect of dating that I have found very disturbing is what I call the “Johnny Lingo Syndrome.” I saw a video back when I was in my teens called “Johnny Lingo.” It’s the story of a Polynesian man who is of marrying age and is the biggest catch on the Island, so everyone is talking about which woman he will marry. In this culture, the man offers to the father of the woman he wants to marry a gift, and the bigger the gift, the more prestigious the woman is. Four or five cows were considered to be top price.

Well, in the movie, Johnnie Lingo goes to the father of the woman he desires to take to wife. Now the woman who has caught his eye is a very shy girl who doesn’t think a lot of herself. She hides behind the trees and never really makes eye contact with anyone. Her father is verbally abusive and consistently tells her how ugly she is. When Johnny Lingo comes to her father, the father thinks he will be able to negotiate maybe two or three cows, but everyone knows he is a fool and will never get that. However, Johnny Lingo, to the father’s astonishment, offers him ten cows for his daughter. The father gladly accepts this offer and, so, after the marriage, Johnny and his bride leave for a three-month honeymoon. When they return from the honeymoon, to everyone’s surprise, she is a confident, absolutely beautiful young woman, which makes the father angry as he realizes he should have bid a lot more for her.

Of course, the moral of this movie is wonderful. It shows what unconditional love can do for a person. If loved unconditionally, without fear of condemnation or emotional attack of any sort, a person can become what lies within her/him. The thing that is not stated, however, and what people fail to realize is that she made the CHOICE to change. If she had still chosen to live with the fear that enveloped her, she never would have changed. She would be stuck in that fear cycle, constantly on guard, questioning every move he made. As a friend of mine put it, “Johnny Lingo’s bride was loved with a pure heart, but she had to open up (choose) to receive that love.”

The “syndrome” part of this is when women and men, who live in this fear-bound state, wait for this wonderful person to come along and sweep them off their feet (loving them unconditionally and believing that everything will be great at that point with no problems at all), they typically make the mistake of not doing anything at all to make themselves more attractive, or release the fear that keeps them bound, believing that when they find the right person, they will know it, and “love” will make everything right. Yet, the fears keep them so unable to trust and venture forth in the world that love continues to elude them and they’re left wondering why.
So, let’s chat a bit about opening up and letting go of that fear. Let me introduce you to a tool called “psychological acupressure.” This is a tool that allows you to release those fears and traumas and open yourself up for new experiences, instead of holding onto the old ones. It does not entail using needles as in traditional acupuncture. You actually tap, using two to three fingers tapping continuously in one area, while making a psychological statement and asking the body to release these emotions.

When you have traumas or experiences they create memories. If those memories are emotionally charged, they go into your energy system emotionally charged and will eventually deposit themselves wherever you are weakest in your body. An example would be if you broke up with a person with whom you were in a relationship while eating dinner. Your stomach would be trying to digest food while you’re dealing with this emotional trauma, and thus would be a weak point, so the fear of never being safe in a relationship would settle into your stomach. This point would then be triggered every time you felt uneasy in a new relationship and feared that the relationship would not be going anywhere, with the result being an upset stomach. However, when you are able to release that emotionally-charged memory of all of the fear and safety issues, your stomach problems will get better.

Other things also come into play with this. When you emotionally charge a memory, your subconscious will take it and find ways to protect you as well, so you don’t feel the fear again. It will choose to hold onto this fear, even if you consciously decide you want to let it go. If you think of your subconscious as a mega- processing computer and your conscious self as a little bitty desktop PC, then you can see how changing your subconscious mind might be a bit hard. This is what happens when you feel you have no “will power.” You are basically fighting your subconscious. You may want to do something, but it does not.

Releasing these fears and traumas and reversing the subconscious mind are actually easy things to accomplish if you know how. To begin with, you have to reverse your subconscious and basically ask permission to release the fear or safety issues you felt at that time. If you don’t do this first, then using the psychological acupressure and tapping out the issues will not be effective, as your subconscious will basically overrule anything you try to release. To get it to release you basically have to try a little bit of “reverse psychology.”

To do a reversal you simple make a statement while continuously tapping on an area that acts like a telephone circuit board for your body. The one we will use for this purpose is the karate chop point. This is on the edge of the pinky side of the hand, the edge that hits the board when doing a karate chop. You take two fingers from one hand and tap on the side of the other hand while making a reversal statement.

The reversal statement comes in two parts. You have an “Even though I don’t want to do this thing,” and the second part is a positive affirmation of, “I’m okay.” So, to reverse yourself in giving up a certain fear would look like this, “Even though I don’t want to give up this fear of dating, I’m okay.” (While tapping on the karate chop point.) That’s it. Nothing else. Very simple and straight forward.

The second half is the actual tapping sequence. This is the EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) sequence. Your setup statement will begin on the karate chop point and be something like this, “Even though the thought of dating scares me to death and envelops me with fear, I deeply and completely accept myself.” We do not use the word “don’t” in these setup statements, as that is only done in a reversal. You make this statement three times while continuously tapping on the karate chop point. That is the setup statement.

Then you continue on by tapping the negative statement at each meridian point, i.e. the inner eyebrow, outer eyebrow, under the eye, under the nose, on the chin, on the collarbone, and under the arm. This statement for the above example would be, “I am too afraid to date,” or “dating scares me to death.” You always state the negative thing in order to clear it from your meridians and open up the pathways so that positive stuff can then be allowed to flow freely. When you finish with the under the arm point, you then tap on the crown of the head and make a positive statement like, “I choose to release this fear of dating and find enjoyment and peace with these thoughts.”

This is a very basic, quick run through of how to alleviate fears and clear your energy system of them.

I went in yesterday and was weighed and actually lost 4 lbs! Woo Hoo! LOL I only had a few minutes to talk to the coach, but she was great. She was very helpful, explained things I asked about very intelligently, and was very supportive.

I then went back to talk to the trainer. His name is Thomas Clayton. I have to tell you, I am very impressed. After explaining my situation and how much I have worked out with very little to show for it and how I get on these plateaus and just cannot budge myself off of them, he told me a few things that were very exciting. I want to share them, so I hope I do it some justice. LOL

First of all, I am working out too hard. There is a point when you exercise where you are pretty much burning in an anaerobic state and burning carbs, not fat. I pretty much miss the fat burning stage all together because I like to exercise with intensity. So, I need to back up a bit and we need to find that narrow range where my body is burning fat, not carbs, and keep my body in that range for a few weeks to retrain it and then I can do two workouts at my fat burning baseline and then progress to intensity training at various levels per week and keep my fat burning going.

He explained it this way…..if you try to build a fire and just put on a big log, throw some gasoline on it, and then light it, you will pretty much burn off all of the gasoline and then it will go out and very little of the log will actually burn. However, if you start with your base and get your little teepee with twigs and brush and really add a lot of fuel to get the fire going, then when you put on the log, it will burn and burn for a long time. Very simplistic way to state it, but very effective, at least for me. LOL I totally understand this and am actually excited to learn about it. It explains a lot!

I really do like to get physical and get very intense and lift weights, run, dance, whatever, I like to get into it. However, you would never know that by just looking at me. Let’s just say, I’m squishy. LOL I feel squishy. When I was lifting weights I was tone underneath and I could feel that my arms and chest were not so “squishy” anymore, but the fat would just not come off on top of it. LOL So, this was great news for me.

I have set up next Wednesday to go in and get a test to see where my “fat burning” range is and then train with him on a new system. It’s a bunch of straps with ways you can utilize them, and your body weight, to create a great workout for all parts of the body. These were created by Navy Seals, so I am actually quite excited to learn about it. This session with the trainer is extra for the test and the training, but it is only $40.00, less than a doctor’s test for sure, and I feel it will be invaluable for what I need to learn. So, I’m biting the bullet and doing it.

So, I did have a good discussion with him on the leptin and cortisol levels in the body. I do tap to correct these and they do play a major role in your body’s ability to “realize” that it needs to lose fat, not muscle. These are hormones that regulate quite a bit in the body and are very important. He also told me a great deal about the role of testosterone and its importance. I learned quite a bit.

So, food wise, I am doing great. I have had no problems staying on this so far. I have had a few times of feeling like I wanted to eat, but not because I was hungry, so tapping those times out have been good. Basically, it’s just realizing that I want to eat for an emotional need not for the need for food. Once you can make those connections, it’s easy to tap it out. Just have to make sure to do a reversal first, as more often then not when it comes to emotional stuff, your body does not want to let go of it.

Hey, also, great news!! I just had my two articles on the effects of stress on your body with regards to weight loss, and what your fat is really saying to you published on E-Zine again! Totally cool!!!! Here are the links if you would like to go to them.

http://EzineArticles.com/?id=2795510
http://EzineArticles.com/?id=2796413

Hugs to all,
Karen

So, here I am again. Day 6 and my first day on Phase II. I haven’t been able to get with the coach yet, but that is entirely my fault. Just too much going on these two days, but I hope to tomorrow. This phase is a bit different. You have set things to eat, and you have to eat it all and take the supplements as well. It is geared to get your metabolism retrained and back in high gear. I know that is one of my big problems, so I am hoping this is going to work.

The only thing I have had to tap out today is the fact that I am restless and keep wandering into the kitchen looking for something else to eat. I know I am not hungry, I am stressed and needing to slow down. So, I have tapped on my amygdala a few times today to relief the stress and relax my stress response. Otherwise, digestion is out the window. I have also tapped out, “Even though I feel restless and just want to eat something to fill the void, I deeply and completely accept myself.” That helped a great deal with calming my mind down about wanting to eat, even though I was not hungry.

As far as staying on the diet, I really have not had any problems today at all. I am very focused. I spent yesterday tapping on focus and motivation issues, making sure I was ready for today. Motivation is a huge part of this program. I had to tap in my ability to focus and staying centered on my goals. Then tap out anything that came up in the back of my mind that said I couldn’t do it. Those are the gremlins that love to keep you from succeeding. I know them well.

One issue I have to tap out is finding time to exercise. I have been so busy it has been impossible for several days. However, today I realized I could talk on the phone with people and walk at the same time. LOL Movement, Jed says it is the crucial component, so I decided to at least move. It may not be a concentrated exercise where I focus on it, but it helps me move and get going in some way. It actually felt good to walk a mile while trying to find out information on the phone. I didn’t feel like I was wasting time, I actually did something with the time. I am, however, looking forward to meeting with the trainer on Friday and getting some more ideas.

At this point in past years, a lot of emotional stuff would be coming up. I have tapped out quite a few issues, so I thought I would address a few of those, knowing that at about this point I would be having issues. Some of the issues I know that I dealt with were things like, my body keeping the weight on to protect me against getting hurt again, or if I am fat then men will not pay attention to me and I’m safe. Safety and protection are HUGE issues with regards to weight and why your body holds onto it so much. I remember vividly my first husband telling me that I was “putting on a few pounds” after having my second baby. I literally had to tap that out and tell my body I was okay to let it go, because I was okay with who I was now and didn’t need it anymore for protection.

Those are just a few issues, but they are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to reasons why your body holds on to the weight. There are also issues to tap out in relation to how you view your body as well. I think I will have to do that tomorrow because that is something I still have issues with. LOL I have just recently allowed my picture to be taken again. So, yes, I know I still have some issues there.

Until then, think positive thoughts and focus on your picture of what you want your life to be. I am!
Karen

It’s now the end of three days and I have learned a few things. A) Don’t leave your vegetables on the counter when you are going to be gone for a long time; B) Expect problems. I went to that slumber party event and thought I had everything covered, but left my vegetables on the counter at home. So, I tried my hardest to find food that I could eat on the plan. I succeeded to some extent by finding a bistro that I could just get a plain ham and cheese sandwich and they had low-fat bread. However, during the next six hours with nothing to snack on that was on the plan was not fun. I succumbed to two little bundt cake samples that were literally forced in front of my face at the event and then even had a bit of popcorn. I actually did not really even want them, but it was more the IDEA of eating them that I wanted. I don’t feel I went off horribly, as they were small bite size little cakes, but you all know that both Jed and I tell you that just three small bites of something you are wanting will actually stop the craving and that was completely true in this case. I really did not want anymore after eating those.

Today, however, has been a bit of a challenge. It has been crazy hectic and has been hard to stay on a schedule. I did breakfast on the run, but got it in. Then after going to Church, I didn’t have time for a real lunch and ate it standing up as I was running out the door, and didn’t get a full lunch. Then by 7, very late for me to eat, Chinese food ended up being the dinner choice and I ate double portion of the rice, as I was hungry by then, and most of the meat was fried, which is not good. It’s like a sabotage thing. If you don’t take time to plan out the eating portion of your day, you end up eating what is in front of you, without thinking about good alternative choices. I know I didn’t overeat a lot, but it was enough for me to feel like I totally blew the day. So, what shows up at that point, but the, “since you have blown the day already, just give up and go eat what you want.” So, I started tapping and tapped out all of those cravings for deserts and the desire to just feel like I blew everything.

As a side note, I also tapped out yeast and sugar in combination, because after eating I started to crave something sweet, and that is the overabundance of yeast in your system that triggers that kind of a response. Especially if you have eaten a meal high in fat content, which I am pretty sure all that lovely fried sweet and sour chicken was.

So, here I am telling the whole world that I blew the third day just because I got busy and didn’t plan it out and allow for the good snacks throughout the day. I have noticed a pattern with me, though, that I hadn’t realized before. I am very much a type “A” personality. LOL (I did know that one!) But, what I do is eat a really good breakfast, and get through lunch just fine, but the busier my day gets and the more hectic it gets the worse I get at making good food choices. I go for the convenient things. Something easy to just either fix or warm up, and that usually means higher in fat content and not as healthy.

So, how do you fix something that is a pattern of behavior? That’s when your 9-gamut point comes in handy really well. I am tapping in the desire to make great food choices even when stressed and in a hurry into my brain centers, especially my amygdala, and then tapping in the desire to create a plan, by tapping out the desire to put off figuring out my evening meals until I am finished from work. That would be the huge procrastination center that most people have that is centered in the prefrontal cortex area.

So, now I am making a plan and planning out my week. Something I procrastinate doing all the time. I will blog more as we go along. I am meeting with the coach’s tomorrow and see how I am doing and then plan out phase 2. See ya at that point.

So, it’s been two days now and I am actually feeling great. Have I stuck with the program? For the most part with a few substitutions due to not having what was recommend in my house. I have not had a chance to go to the store, so making sure I had everything I needed for these four days in order to find something to eat on the program is a crucial part.

I had a singles party last night and did have to prepare ahead of time for that. Since I knew I was going to be tempted to eat all of the wonderful goodies, I went ahead and did an allergy of clearing on sugar again, not that I was testing as being allergic, but I wanted to remind myself that I didn’t want it. Then I took some chocolate and cleared the craving for it with the tapping. That was extremely effective. I did not even want the cookies, in fact, they didn’t even look good. I actually should have done that for the salt as well. LOL However, they did have some wonderful vegetables chips that were baked and actually had some decent ingredients in them. So I just made sure I ate only what was a portion and ate my vegetables and some grapes and I had no problem at all. I did not even feel deprived. So, to me that was a victory.

Emotionally, though, it has been a little different. I do have a lot of thoughts of what do I think I am doing, and why I am doing this, is this going to be worth it, etc. Pretty much just all fears surrounding putting myself out there again, believing that I might actually be able to lose weight on a program. You always go into doing any program with such high hopes and you work so hard at it, and then when you have had such bad results from programs in the past, the fears get pretty big about doing any programs again.

The memory that keeps popping up for me is when I did the biggest loser competition with one of the major gyms in the valley about 4 years ago. I had not learned how to clear psychologically at that point, so still had all that emotional baggage when I started the program. However, I love to exercise and I religiously exercised, doing a circuit every single day, except Sundays. I watched very closely what I ate and tried to make good choices and the first week I lost six pounds, which was amazing! I was thrilled. I had joined with my sister, so I had the motivation and someone backing me, etc. So, I felt like I was going to finally get past this and get my metabolism moving again. I had to be very careful not to flare up my fibromyalgia with doing too much, but I was really working hard at it.

That second week, I had actually gained back three of the pounds. I was devastated. I had been better that week than I had the first week. I had not eaten any sugar for two weeks and felt great. I tried to muster past that week and just maintain the status quo by exercising the same as I had been and eating right with no sugar, but I have to admit that my balloon had been deflated quite a bit. Well, the third week did not go well either and I only lost two pounds again, and then the fourth week I was stagnant, not loosing or gaining, and by the fifth and sixth week, I was not just trying to maintain my balance, but felt completely discouraged and felt it was not working, so pretty much gave up on the program, having lost a whopping 5 pounds. I did continue to exercise, however, four to five times a week, just because I enjoy exercising and it made my fibro feel better.

Since that memory has been so prevalent for me this morning, I have been doing a lot of clearing getting that out of there, and I have to tell you I feel great. I know there were other programs I went on with the same kind of results, but this was the prevalent in my mind, so it was what was triggering those emotions. Keeping track of how you are feeling emotionally versus what memories are coming up is crucial with this. I have released a lot of emotions around such programs over the past couple of years, but had forgotten about this one. So, my body definitely was reminding me of that.

Anyway, I will blog more as we go. I have to eat out tonight, so I will have to see how I can do that on the plan.

This week and in the subsequent 21 days, I will not be answering your questions, but blogging on my experiences in the 21-day program that I am doing in conjunction with Thin & Healthy Utah. Yes, I am doing a program. LOL I even woke up with anxieties about it this morning. Yes….I know, I teach people how to get through anxieties and here I am having one. LOL The anxiety was actually not about whether I could do the program, but whether I would lose weight.

You have to understand…and I think some of you do very well….I have tried everything and anything. In the past two years since starting on this journey and healing my fibromyalgia and all of the wonderful problems that go with it, as well as getting off all of those wonderful medications, I have gone through quite a myriad of ways to lose this lovely belly flab. LOL I have followed the plans religiously and have actually gained weight on some of them. Some of this was due to the fact that I had not cleared all the emotional baggage surrounding my weight, so to say they did not work entirely would be unfair, as the emotional baggage I carried with my weight was huge. However, even after clearing all of this, and losing 50 lbs, I still am here on a plateau. LOL These last few months I have cleared the last of my emotional baggage that I knew was getting in the way, so now I am ready to do this, and yes, my subconscious mind is very much in line with my conscious self, so I am ready; however, I still had that anxiety and when I thought about it the memory of trying that one thyroid cleanse last year and gaining 5 lbs on it was upper most in my mind. So, yes, I had to go in and clear out that memory and I felt MUCH better.

So, why did I decide on this program? Well, I have watched Jed for many months now and actually trust him and believe he knows what he is talking about. His heart is in it and his greatest desire is to help people. So, I feel SAFE! Yes, safety is a HUGE issue for me. I had to tap this one out many months ago, because I honestly did not feel I could trust someone to help me who did not have an ulterior motive, like selling a product, or a method, or whatever. So, safety was a big issue in trusting that his motives were honorable. He has never judged me or my weight and has never ever even asked me if I wanted to do one of his programs. He and I simply formed a great relationship just because are motives are the same and because we could help each other. So, I now need to trust that he can help me get off this plateau and back into losing again, just as he trusts me with his clients to help them clear away some of the emotional baggage that their weight carries.

I went through the program with him last night and was measured, weighed, and had my fat percentage calculated on my first visit. It is rather simple and is easy to follow. Have I felt hungry on it? Not so much hungry, as much as just wanting my favorite foods, you know my comfort foods. LOL I’m starting a new program, anxious about whether I will lose weight, and now I don’t have my favorite foods. LOL I have had to tap out some of these cravings. My favorite foods for the most part are very healthy foods. I have already tapped out my desire for cereal and white flour and sugar, etc. I spent several months back in January and February making HUGE changes in my diet and that of my children to bring us all into a healthier state, so my favorite foods are things like almonds, cashews, along with my cantaloupe, watermelon, etc. I’m told these will be added in later, so I’m not worried about missing them. I just have to give it a few days.

You start in phases and I am on phase 1 for about three to four days. I will go back in on Monday and be reweighed. Then next week I will also be meeting with the trainer and he will help me retrain my metabolism. I have done cross fit for almost a year now and even started up Zuma in July and have loved it, so I’m not sedentary, and I am passionate about exercise and intensity; however, I’m also not making progress, so I’m looking forward to meeting with him.

Well, enough for now. I will blog more tomorrow about some of the emotions I have had to clear over these past two years, as these have been critical in getting me to this point.
